My husband and I have five children — four girls and one boy — and we spent eight years raising our family in Utah before relocating to Pocatello in 2020. Becoming a mother has been the single most meaningful and transformative experience of my life — and also the hardest. From facing high-risk pregnancies, premature birth, feeding struggles, and NICU stays, I know how much it means to have someone by your side who listens, reassures, and nurtures you through it all. I’ve always felt called to this work as a way to honor the generations of women who came before me and to walk beside those navigating this vulnerable, powerful time. It’s a sacred honor to be invited into the inner circle of a birthing woman and hold space as she brings new life into the world and as she is born into motherhood. Professionally, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Utah. I trained with DONA International and am cross-certified with ProDoula as both a Birth and Postpartum Doula. My approach blends evidence-based education with heartfelt, personalized care so that every family feels empowered, nurtured, and supported. My journey to becoming a postpartum doula began in 2022, when I became a mother myself. During my pregnancy, I dove deep into everything I could learn about birth and parenting, and I quickly fell in love with the beauty and power of the whole process. But when my daughter was born, I realized there was a gap in the education and support available for new mothers, especially when it comes to the postpartum experience. Hi, I'm Dez Weyburn. I have thirteen years of doula experience and have been able to support so many kinds of births. I love working with families who want to take charge of their own birth experience, however that looks to them. In the past year, I've sort of accidentally found a niche at supporting high risk births, so I'm well versed in how most of the local hospitals deal with labor complications. Beyond that, I'm well informed about supporting physiological births.
