Birth and babies are my passions. I started the journey to becoming a birth doula shortly after having my second baby, Colton. My first and second births were completely night and day. My first baby, Caleb, was an incredibly long and strenuous labor; a total of 72 hours. With my second, however, I was only in labor for a total of 25 hours, which still is very long, but not by comparison. I owe a lot of that to my amazing birth team I had for my second birth, which included a midwife and doula support, and the education I gained throughout my pregnancy on how to prepare my body for birth. I believe in a holistic approach to birth. I don't think birth should be treated as a medical emergency until proven that it needs to be. Birth is a natural, beautiful thing, and while modern medicine absolutely has its place, I don't think it automatically belongs in every birth space. That said, I support every way to give birth, because in the end you're the only one in control. If you want an epidural, membrane sweep, Pitocin, all the drugs, I will absolutely support your decision. Or if you want to deny all cervical checks, do intermittent monitoring, and have your baby in the tub, that's great by me too! My priority as your doula would be to give you access to all the information you need to make well informed choices and give you the support you need to make your birth experience exactly what you want

I am a certified doula providing continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to my clients, before, during, and after labor in the Los Angeles and Kern Counties. I believe all ways to birth (vaginally, medicated, caesarean birth, etc…) are legitimate and should be honored as birth experiences. I feel Partners of people giving birth should also feel supported and empowered during labor and birth. I will honor medication preferences during labor and birth. I will be there to educate and encourage your postpartum feeding preferences whether it is (bottle feed, breastfeed, formula feed, or using donor milk).

Ani-La Anat Phil-Golan is a certified Doula CLC (Certified Lactation Counselor) , pre-natal yoga and baby yoga instructor in Southern California. Ani-La Anat graduated from Dona International / Bini Birth where she received her doula certification. She studied at the prestigious Adler Institute in Israel where she was a facilitator for new parents and she took Psychotherapy courses in Har Hatzofim University in Jerusalem. At the Wingate Institute, Israel's National Centre for Physical Education and Sport, Ani-La Anat studied Baby development, Hydrotherapy and gymnastics. She also specialized to work with kids with special needs. Ani-La Anat is the mother of three beautiful adult children. Ani-La Anat has a multi-layered life: she was born and raised in Jerusalem Israel and then met her husband while serving her country. She raised her children in Kibbutz Ein-Gedi in Israel, which is known for being the lowest place in the world. She moved to the city (Kohav Yair) for 9 years and then relocated with her family to the Los Angeles area in 2007 to expand her life and her practice of Doula, Reiki and Yoga. In this strong pursuit, Anat Ani-La has traveled to India to study, work with masters and to develop her own unique style, blending Yoga and nutrition, sensitivity and physiology and the teachings of the ages across many cultures to support women who bring life into this magical world.
