Hey there! I’m Karly, here to help you navigate the wild world of the best job in the world, being a parent! With over 10 years of experience and a passion for helping others. Whether you’re a first-time parent or adding another baby to the family, I’m here to provide the guidance and encouragement you need. When I’m not busy supporting other families as a doula, I am a mom of two amazing kiddos and a wife. Or you may see me assisting in bringing new life into the world as a Labor and Delivery RN. I recently started my journey as a pregnancy, birth, and postpartum Doula. I am also a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). After my own struggles with breastfeeding my daughter, I set out to become more educated and trained to help my patients, friends, and family with breastfeeding. I am passionate about getting parents thru the early days with a minimal amount of tears (sorry, there will always be some). If you need tips on latching, positioning, bottle feeding, figuring out pumping schedules, managing clogged ducts or mastitis or just need a support experienced mama in your corner, I’m your gal!

Karly was an amazing doula and lactation consultant for my wife. She went above and beyond and was crucial in helping my wife feel more confident in breastfeeding before leaving the hospital. She was also a very kind and calming presence during labor. We can't thank her enough.

Hi, my name is Katelyn, and I’m a certified Full-Spectrum doula. I have experience supporting families through VBAC, high-risk pregnancies, and IVF journeys. I believe that every birth story is unique, and my role is to provide steady, compassionate support—emotionally, physically, and informationally—through each step of the process. My background includes working closely with clients navigating complex or medically supported births, and I’m deeply committed to creating a calm, empowering space where families feel safe, heard, and in control of their choices. Whether you’re preparing for a vaginal birth after cesarean, managing a high-risk pregnancy, welcoming a baby after fertility treatment, or have a generally "normal" pregnancy, I’m here to walk beside you with care and confidence. It’s an honor to support families during such a transformative time, and I’m grateful to be part of this work.

We hired Katelyn as our night doula. Katelyn is very good at taking care of babies. She helped us a lot in the first month postpartum. Our baby initially had some diaper rash and as new parent, we were worried about how to handle it. She quickly gave us really good advice of how to handle it. After that, our baby no longer had diaper rash! Another time our baby was not able to poop for two days and we were worried. She helped the baby with some movement and that night, the baby was able to poop! Her experience of taking babies is exceptional!

Having Naoko by our side during the birth was the very first gift our baby received. Now, two years later, I've come to realize even more just how much her presence and support meant to us. She quickly recognized that my labor was progressing much faster than expected. With her calm guidance and timely advice, we were able to communicate seamlessly with the hospital staff and make the right decisions at every step. She also thoughtfully connected a video call so that my daughter and my husband, who couldn't be in the delivery room, could still share the moment my son entered the world. Thanks to Naoko, the moment arrived in a calm, joyful atmosphere, and everyone in the room cheered, "The party's starting!" It remains one of my most treasured memories, and every time I think about it, I'm filled with happiness and gratitude. I wholeheartedly recommend Naoko to anyone looking for a birth doula. She brings not only exceptional knowledge and professionalism, but also genuine warmth, compassion, and a reassuring presence. She gave our family a gift that will stay with us for years to come.

— Ryoko T., review of Naoko Sumii June 2026

Naoko was the best doula I could have wished for! I had to have her for my second delivery as well. She comes to know you well as a person so with my second delivery, her advice as contraction coming in was very helpful and taking into considerations of what I want and my personality. I am fluent in Japanese and English and my husband speaks English. She was able to communicate with both of us and made us feel like a one team. Her postpartum meal prep service is very helpful too. She has extensive experience in breastfeeding so will be of help around your breastfeeding journey if that is a topic you care about.

— Mariko A., review of Naoko Sumii June 2026

Choosing Naoko as our postpartum doula was one of the best decisions we made as part of our birth journey. First of all, she has an amazing, warm, motherly presence that immediately brings comfort to everyone around her. When she came over to our house on the fifth day postpartum, she taught us how to bathe our daughter, how to swaddle her, and guided me through breastfeeding. Her tremendous knowledge and experience are truly incredible. I had a difficult time with breastfeeding, and it exhausted me both physically and emotionally. Naoko supported me every step of the way during those first three months postpartum until breastfeeding was finally well established. She never hesitated to call me and would even come by our house to check in on me and make sure I never felt alone. I truly can't imagine how I would have survived the postpartum period without her. If you're thinking about hiring her, don't hesitate. She is an absolute gift to any new family, and every mother deserves a Naoko in her life.
