I had a great experience with Dana as my doula. We didn't meet until the end of my third trimester because I decided I needed a doula at the last minute. Dana listened to all my concerns about the care I received, and even attended one of my last OB appointments. I felt that she was well informed about pregnancy and labor. I enjoyed going over my birth plan with Dana because she explained everything line by line. I went into labor prematurely at 36 weeks and Dana didn't panic. She came to the delivery room and I feel like everything moved fast. She set up music like I wanted, dimmed the lights, and helped my husband with positions. I was able to have a vaginal birth with no epidural like I wanted. This meant so much to me because the specialist I was seeing told me I would have to be induced and have a c-section. Dana made me feel supported and helped me feel calm during labor. I was able to make informed decisions about my care and not feel anxious going into labor. Even after the delivery, Dana got food for me and my husband and checked on us until we all went home. Our post-partum visit at home went well and Dana was able to get my baby to latch. I had a positive experience for my first birth, and I would recommend Dana to anyone looking for a doula.

My name is Taylor Jefferson, and I’m a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula through DONA International, a Certified Childbirth Educator, Lactation Educator, and Spinning Babies® Parent Educator serving the Greater Houston area. But more than anything, I’m a passionate advocate for safe, equitable, and empowering birth and postpartum experiences for all families—especially those who have historically been overlooked or underserved in maternal care. With over 21 years of hands-on experience in healthcare—spanning Pediatrics and Family Medicine—and the last 6 years dedicated fully to birth work, I bring a unique blend of clinical insight, heartfelt support, and culturally sensitive care to every family I serve. I’m also trained in perinatal maternal mental health, so I show up ready to support the whole you—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I believe birth is not only sacred—it’s transformative. My approach centers on collaborative, education-driven care so that you feel truly informed and confident in every decision. No two birth or postpartum journeys are ever the same, and that’s the beauty of it. Let’s create a nurturing space where your voice is honored, your choices respected, and your body is supported in doing what it was made to do. I would be honored to walk beside you as your little one makes their way into this world. Let’s bloom through birth & postpartum—together.
We had the pleasure of having Taylor as our Doula for our first born! Taylor was both supportive & provided essential childbirth education prior to my wife being in labor. This helped us know what to expect & what red flags to look out for. During labor, we truly do not know how we would’ve done it with out her. When labor began to intensify she stepped into action to make sure my wife was as comfortable as possible through different stretches, massages, and comforting words. Over the past few months Taylor was more than a doula, she truly felt as part of the family and felt like a critical part of our birthing team at the hospital. I couldn’t recommend her more and we plan on using her for all our future births!

Hello, I'm a queer and trans full-spectrum doula working in Houston, TX. Full-spectrum means that I am trained and experienced in supporting families through the whole range of pregnancy experiences, including trying to conceive, pregnancy, labor, postpartum, pregnancy loss, and/or abortion. All of my work is grounded in supporting folks in creating the families they want, when they want to, and how they want to. This looks like: accompanying you through the many decision points in your pregnancy and parenting journey, providing emotional and logistical care throughout this time of great transformation, and making sure you are connected to the resources you need to make the best decisions for yourself and your family.
Chloe supported me and my family in our postpartum phase, almost immediately after birth and for several months. Their support was instrumental for my recovery as a birthing parent, with two small children (2 and 5 years old). They stepped in with care, reliability, adaptability, and a steady, calm presence that was grounding for us all in a moment of natural instability with so many shifts and changes for our family. Chloe was able to coordinate with my partner about what was most needed each day they were over, which was daily for the first two weeks. They took turns between childcare, for my older children, and helping care for me, and my newborn. I trusted Chloe deeply, and they witnessed me in deeply tender, vulnerable moments, offering me nutritious yummy food to eat, and an open heart as I went through the highs and lows of my postpartum season. They came in with so much love, respect, and reverence, but not "just" that, they also brought with them many skills in caregiving during postpartum, and caregiving of babies and small children. We are all very grateful to Chloe and the gifts of care they brought us through a much important (extended) moment in our family. As a birthing parent, I felt deeply held by them. As a parent of littles, I felt trusting of their interactions with my children. As a partner, I felt appreciation for how they actively considered my partner's needs, too. I wish Chloe could've been a part of my previous postpartum seasons, too! And I am glad they will continue to share their gifts with birthers and their families through these delicate, sacred moments of reproductive events (and all their possible outcomes!).

Hello, my name is Kayla Serene. I am a mother of two and an elementary school teacher. While I cherish both roles, I have discovered a new passion: supporting women through their birthing experiences. After an amazing birth experience with my daughter, I realized that not all women feel the same way. This inspired me to make it my mission to remind women of their power and help them rediscover faith in their bodies.

Hello! My name is Shala and I’m a birth and postpartum doula in Houston, TX. I run my business and center my birth philosophy on three main principles: empathy, autonomy, and authenticity. Every Well Rooted Doula client has the right to self determination and is supported in creating the birth that they see fit. I believe in the body’s innate ability to birth and encourage clients to listen to and trust the signals their body sends them before, during, and after birth. Additionally, I believe that it’s my duty to help clients advocate for their birthing visions, wherever and however they take place. Clients are welcomed and celebrated regardless of race, socioeconomic status, nationality, sexuality, religion, or gender identity, etc. I want to support you in having a happy and joyful birth and postpartum period! To do so, I employ active listening, critical thinking, and work to create opportunities for feedback.
Shala is fantastic! She has helped me complete a birthing plan and questions to ask my provider. She very calming and knowledgeable. I can’t wait for her to be my guide and support while I give birth! She has made sure my partner is included in the journey and is open to answering all of our questions. Highly recommend her services!

Hello! My name is Angela and I grew up in Houston TX, in the land of bbq and “y’all”. Im a Latino woman born and raised in Houston. My father was born in Venezuela and mother, on the Alabama Coushatta reservation near Livingston. I grew up in a large family amongst 6 siblings who taught me how important it is to take into account a plurality of perspectives and experiences. I am trained as a birth and postpartum doula through Doula Trainings International and have a wealth of information I acquired through research, education, and life experience. I believe in the popular education model, and see that education doesn't follow hierarchical pathways; it always flows in both directions. I’m also a research nerd. I believe that Doula support helps lay the groundwork for a satisfying experience. As a Full Spectrum Doula, i see the pregnant person and their loved ones as the center around which care revolves. I operate as a pillar to the family and their relationship becomes a solid foundation you can rely on providing consistency, information, and a therapeutic presence as you all navigate physical and emotional tides, and as your experience unfolds.

I am a Spirit Baby Medicine Woman, Psychic, Mentor, and a Energy Healer. I have sat with many women and people holding space for them on their pregnancies and relationship with pregnancy. Pregnancy is sacred. It is a process of birth and co-creation each time. Co-creating with your spirit baby, your partner, your children, grandparents, and beyond. Many systems were not created to support women, even more were not created inclusive of people of color. Throughout working in Maternal Health for some years, my desire for a family catapulted me into a deep journey with my spirit babies. A safe and nurturing pregnancy where your needs are listened to and respected is your birthright. My experience of working with spirit babies and their families comes with emotional and spiritual energy work that supports families through prenatal, pregnancy, birth and postpartum. My work is designed around supporting spirit babies and their families, and spirit babies desire to connect with their parents before, during and after birth. This helps you to learn more about your spirit baby and yourself in the process through the lense of your spirit baby who loves you unconditionally. Spirit babies choose their parents as their parents choose them and they can get pregnant even after choosing not to get pregnant, or having experienced multiple attempts at pregnancy and the experience not ending in a child. It's a beautiful process of learning with your spirit baby who is both guiding and being guided by you, your partner, and others the spirit baby has chosen to help support your pregnancy with them. This is the process even when you may not have met your partner yet. It's an incredibly intimate and vulnerable process even as pregnancy is already one, a spirit baby amplifies that as they are different from those that aren't, and the desire for connection and love with their parents comes quicker and before pregnancy. Those who are drawn to my work likely have a spirit baby connection, whether mom, dad, other family members or friends. Connecting with your spirit baby helps you learn more about the little one you're birthing and challenges that may come up, as well as how to prepare for their arrival in a way that feels good for you and them. Spirit babies are often thought to be only an unborn child but they're a sensitive and highly empathic child with gifts and sensitivities that are active well after birth and can be the reason many children don't take well to being birthed in certain environments, to certain foods, being around certain people or energy, or don't feel they're loved or seen. They aren't just babies, they are wise souls with mountains of wisdom they wish to share. A child is a spirit baby after birth and into adult life. Working with spirit babies is also restarting the process of loving the self, and intuition, and listening to one's self, in each moment. I look forward to supporting your spirit baby, you, and your family.
I have worked along side Victoria a few times now & known her for a few years. Victoria has deep knowledge when it comes to spirit babies & the spirit world. I have learnt many things about my self & the spirit world since connecting with her. She is kind & honest. Sticks to her word & is empowering . She has been on her own beautiful journey with her spirit babies as well so I believe has a world of experience on a deeper level . I truly believe she offers such incredible information from our spirit babies & her intuition for our growth. She really has a gift when it comes to this work ❤️

You deserve to walk into birth informed and walk out whole. I'm Mitsuzi—labor & delivery nurse and founder of Birthing Noire Doula Collective. I started this work because I watched too many families experience birth without truly understanding what was happening to their bodies or what their options were. Now I lead a team of certified doulas who bring both clinical knowledge and grounded, hands-on support to Houston families navigating fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Here's what makes us different: collective care. You're matched with one primary doula, I handle your education and birth planning, and if labor extends beyond 12 hours, I step in for relief so you get fresh support when you need it most. No one burns out. You stay held. We serve families who want more than generic advice—you want real education, honest advocacy, and care that doesn't run out. We don't fold... we flow.
She is just great
