We couldn’t be happier with our decision to hire Natalie as our doula for both birth and postpartum support. Her calm presence during the birth made all the difference. She guided my husband on how to help, held my hand, coached me, and provided thoughtful touches like honey sticks and snacks. She also captured photos that we will cherish forever and supported us in those first precious hours with our new baby. When we came home, Natalie helped us smoothly transition to our new normal. Her wisdom and advice were invaluable for baby care, my recovery, and my husband’s adjustment to fatherhood. We’ve done both overnight and day sessions with her and every time she brings so much support and guidance. We’re excited for the remaining sessions we have left with her. We truly couldn’t have done it without Natalie. If you’re looking for a doula who will go above and beyond, Natalie is the one!

My name is Laurie Wood and I am passionate about supporting families through the incredible journey of childbirth and beyond. With a gentle touch and a compassionate heart, I’m here to ensure you feel empowered and cared for every step of the way. Before becoming a doula, I spent 30 years as a public school educator, working closely with children and families through meaningful milestones. My own positive birth experiences—including the birth of my first child with the support of a midwife—deepened my belief in the need for compassionate, informed care. I know that birth can feel overwhelming or uncertain, and I believe women have a unique and powerful ability to support all birthing parents through it. As a doula, I bring warmth, calm, and a steady presence to help you feel safe, supported, and confident throughout your pregnancy and birth experience. I have a blended family of six grown children and nine wonderful grandchildren who keep me closely connected to both the joys and challenges of raising children in today’s ever-changing world. Their presence in my life reminds me daily how each parenting journey is unique—and how important it is to feel supported, heard, and encouraged as a parent.
Laurie provided great support and assistance at my birth. I was a first time mom I wasn’t sure what to expect but Laurie made sure to walk me through things so I felt better prepared going in. During birth she was a calm, quiet presence being there to support but not interfering with the experience between my husband and I. She advocated for me in times I wasn’t able to and made sure my husband and I we fully informed about everything that was happening. I would definitely use her services again and recommend her to anyone else I know.

I have been a labor/postpartum/newborn nurse for over 10 years. I am a breastfeeding specialist as well. I help run a local postpartum support group. I offer in home support to families who just brought home a baby to help navigate this huge transition!
Erin worked with our family as a postpartum doula and I can’t recommend her more. As a first time mom, Erin provided the emotional, logistical, and medical support that our family needed in the days and weeks after our baby was born. I credit Erin to our ability to nurse. Our baby was having a hard time extracting milk from me, but with Erin’s support at 9 weeks, our girl was able to have her first full feed. I’m forever grateful for Erin’s support, guidance and care.

My personal journey into motherhood was filled with unexpected twists and turns. I faced a high-risk pregnancy, a traumatic birth, and an emotionally challenging NICU stay. These experiences opened my eyes to the gaps in maternal support, particularly in relation to mental health. Witnessing the impact that inadequate support had on my own well-being, I made it my mission to bridge those gaps and provide the tools necessary to ease the mental load of motherhood. Becoming a doula was a natural progression for me. I felt a deep calling to support other mothers as they navigate the physical, emotional, and mental challenges that come with pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My goal is to empower mothers to take charge of their own mental well-being, equipping them with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to thrive.
