About me

Hi there! My name is Krista, and I am the owner of KKH Doula Services in Calgary, AB, Canada. It is so nice to meet you! I started my doula business in January 2023. I became a postpartum doula after struggling in my own postpartum journey. Lacking my own support, I was diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety. It was through my perinatal mental health groups that I learned about postpartum doulas and the amazing work they do! I immediately signed up for postpartum doula training, and the rest is history! I have been so fortunate to have supported many families in their postpartum journey. Families seek me out because of my lived experience with perinatal mental health disorders, grief, and over 12 years' experience in the disability and mental health field. I am described as a kind, calm, hard-working, reassuring, and knowledgeable person, and I bring these qualities to my doula practice. I would be honoured to support you in your own journey! Service introduction

Postpartum doula services: I offer in-person or virtual doula services. In-person services include daytime, evening, or overnight support. During a postpartum shift, I work with families to overcome their initial challenges, such as sleep, feeding, newborn skills, household needs, booking and attending appointments, etc. Overnight services will allow the parents to sleep while I take care of baby and do light, quiet household tasks. Childminding: I offer childminding services for expectant parents while they're in labour or for parents who need a break to reconnect. I have extensive experience taking care of children of all ages, and families have expressed to me that they feel much more at ease with a trained doula taking care of their young children!
