I plan to give birth in a hospital setting. I am hoping to get the majority of doula costs reimbursed by my insurance (UnitedHealthCare HMO Gold). I am 15 weeks into my first pregnancy, so I don't have a fully developed birth plan - hoping a doula can help with that! I do know that my goal is to have an unmedicated birth that is as low-intervention as possible. We live in Playa Del Rey and planning to have a birth in Cedars-Sinai in Beverly Hills. Our estimate budget is $1500-3000 but this will depend on the available options. I am working with a midwife as my primary care provider, and for now we are planning on a natural birth, preferably no induction (unless medically required), maximizing freedom to move during birth.
