Hi! I’m a licensed psychotherapist and my practice is dedicated to supporting millennial women as they navigate motherhood. Whether that be deciding if motherhood is right for you, pregnancy, postpartum struggles, or relationship dynamic issues. As a millennial mom of 2 myself, I truly understand the challenges that come with being a woman and a mother. Our generation is breaking a lot of cycles and while that is so healing, it can also be very overwhelming. No matter where you are in your journey, I’m here to support you. I offer a personal-centered approach with warmth, compassion, humor, and safety.
East Lyme, Connecticut
I enjoy supporting children, adults, and families as they navigate major life transitions, like pregnancy, blended families, and moving. I also work closely with chronic illness and chronic pain patients. My current research focuses on the ways in which healthcare providers can be better trained to support patients, avoiding medical trauma and gaslighting. I specialize in the use of drama therapy, a creative and embodied approach. Drama therapy uses play, metaphor, role, and story to help people of all ages, identities, and abilities to create meaningful change. Using a dramatic approach to therapy makes the process less scary and more approachable. By stepping into another role or placing our personal stories in metaphor, we feel safer to discuss difficult topics and explore new ways of feeling and thinking.

I am a skilled and sought after clinical social worker. I have my masters degree in social work and have been working with children, adolescents and families for over 15 years. One of my favorite parts of this work is forming supportive, helpful relationships with clients as we navigate life challenges and transitions together. I have an eclectic approach to treatment, meaning that I believe there is no one way to heal and grow. I enjoy sharing ideas and resources with clients. This can include traditional talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), working with family members, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, Reiki healing, collaborating with other professionals to support clients in their care - and so much more! Currently, I am working with parents in the perinatal phase of parenthood, as well as adults navigating transitions, anxiety, grief and loss, parenting and couples work. I identify as a cis, white, heterosexual female and use she/her pronouns.

Yaffa and I love working as a team! Here's a recent review from a birth doula client: From the first time we met Shira, we felt more at ease about our birthing time. Upon meeting Shira it is obvious how sweet, caring, and smart she is. Shira is very knowledgeable about pregnancy and birth, and she is super humble about her approach. She is here for you to answer your questions and make you feel prepared and comfortable. She doesn't push any personal agenda, she is a calm and peaceful presence who will guide you like a warm mother would, and with confidence. Shira is open minded. She was directly by my side taking my lead during my first birth, and both of our first HypnoBabies experience. She was the expert support and extra hands I needed alongside my husband. I had mostly back labor and she helped with counter pressure, positioning, and movement for 24+ hours! She said yes to all any any requests I had. When I decided to get an epidural/induction, she helped make that choice easier. She constantly shared my birth plan with the hospital staff to ensure everyone was on board with my vision so I didn't have to. It was very reassuring having her there and I truly couldn't have done it without her. The birth ended up being absolutely beautiful, magical, and a holy experience that I would be lucky and blessed to do over and over again. Thank you Shira!!

Seeking help can feel intimidating and most think, “Do I really need to speak to a stranger about this problem?” Taking that first step though can help you to learn some strategies for a lifetime. Having been a social worker for over 25 years, my approach is an eclectic one. My practice includes working with people who have a history of perinatal issues, death/dying, DV, and substance use. I work with people from the ages of 4 through seniors.
Allendale, New Jersey
My approach is down to earth, genuine, and supportive. To me, modern therapy is about real people having real conversations; so while I use evidence-based clinical practices, I make therapy feel like coffee with a good friend who helps guide you towards solutions to your problems for the world we live in today. I don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach to therapy - I take an eclectic and person-centered approach to each mom I serve.

Hi, we are Anna and Ashley, Registered Nurses specializing in High Risk Obstetrics and founders Of Birth Savvy LLC. Meet Ashley RN, BSN My career began in pediatric primary care and community health, but my true passion led me to Labor & Delivery in 2015. For several years, I worked at one of Boston’s top institutions, caring for high-risk and critically ill birthing patients. I was driven to expand my expertise beyond the delivery room—supporting families holistically throughout their entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. In 2021, I transitioned into Maternal Fetal Medicine, deepening my knowledge of complex pregnancies and high-risk care. My mission is to provide a culturally competent, integrated approach that nurtures both physical and emotional well-being. Beyond my professional experience, I’ve personally navigated a high-risk pregnancy and birth—a journey that sparked my Aha! moment: knowledge, paired with unwavering support, is the true key to empowerment in the perinatal and postpartum experience. That realization led me to create Birth Savvy, because every birthing person deserves high-quality education, autonomy, and confidence. I mix humor, encouragement, and real talk to help parents connect mind and body, fuel inner strength, and embrace birth without fear. I’m a Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner, Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor, and trained in perinatal mental health. When I’m not empowering families, you’ll find me traveling, watching action movies, enjoying great food, listening to music, and, of course, being a mom! Meet Anna RN, MSN I’m Anna, a dedicated OB nurse with over 13 years of experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, abortion care, and Maternal Fetal Medicine. My passion for childbirth started early, inspired by my grandmother’s stories shared around the dinner table. From the moment I stepped into nursing, I knew supporting families through pregnancy and birth was my calling. Beyond hospital-based care, I earned a Master’s in Public Health and worked in community health, providing vital reproductive care and family planning services. As a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner, and Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) specialist, I bring a holistic and evidence-based approach to every birth experience. My goal is to help families feel calm, confident, and in control, no matter their journey. I founded Birth Savvy because the greatest joy in my career has been guiding parents toward empowered, informed choices—no matter how complex their situation may be. When I’m not working, you’ll find me cooking, traveling, re-learning piano, or tackling endless home improvement projects!

Dr. Eleanor McGlinchey specializes in therapy for depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship difficulties, emotion regulation, and child & adult sleep problems. I am also particularly interested in helping new parents who are struggling with either their baby's sleep or their own sleep (or both!). Sleep and rest are often neglected in our lives. Yet as soon as we prioritize it, we find it evades us. My goal is to help you find rest – whether that means changing your behaviors to promote better quality sleep, challenging worries that drain your energy, or equipping you with effective communication skills to build the social support you need to thrive in your daily rhythm. As a sleep specialist, I will help you uncover and change habits and thoughts that are holding you back from restful sleep and full daytime energy. I also specialize in treating depression, anxiety and relationship concerns and I strive to remain curious about your specific experiences so I understand how best to help. We will work together to help you discover ways to connect meaningfully with the people in your life and challenge assumptions that may be holding you back from realizing your full self-worth.

I am a perinatal mental health certified art psychotherapist supporting those who identify as caregivers in cultivating creative resilience. My psychotherapy approach is grounded in principles of cultural humility, humanism, and the healing power of an empathic creative process. I believe that the act of creating something——in any form——with embodied, full presence can combat burnout and stress symptoms, while engaging the symbolism within a work of art or art-making process can lead to insight into deeper conflict or sometimes hidden issues through the safe distance of metaphor. Whether it's through verbal psychotherapy, an active creative process, or combination of the two, the lens through which we explore concerns is focused on self discovery, healing, and empowerment.
