I will be giving birth at the Naval hospital in Camp Pendleton. Hoping to find someone who is covered under my insurance-Tricare prime. I am trying for an unmedicated birth, but am open to intervention if things aren’t proceeding as planned. Still in need of education for myself and partner for birth prep. I am a NICU nurse, but husband wants to be involved. I am used to the baby side of things, but not laboring!! Also would love lactation advice after.

My goal is a low intervention VBAC. Open to either home or hospital—but I am leaning towards laboring at home for as long as I can before giving birth at a hospital. I plan to give birth at Scripps Encinitas. From my understanding, tricare select covers labor doulas, so I am not entirely sure. I am very against medical interventions in labor. (No pitocin, epidural, episiotomy, etc.) I am looking for someone who is going to medically advocate for me to allow myself to be present in labor and not feel like I am having to fight off people trying to intervene when unnecessary. I have Tricare West Select.

Planning a natural birth, with no family close by to help with toddler. Which is why im requesting a birth doula. This would be our first time requesting a doula or midwife so we're not sure what our budget would be for this service. We're planning a hospital birth, but currently in the process of moving due to my husbands orders. Im not even sure what hospital I can go to. Im currently 30 weeks pregnant and to be honest im not even sure what to do. My first birth experience wasnt bad but it wasnt the greatest and had no guidance. I was lucky to have a vaginal birth with my first but with epidural at 41 weeks. I was induced because I wasnt fully informed. I would prefer not to be induced or receive pitocin because the contractions from that were horrible. They said I had to be induced because they couldn't really feel my baby moving, but I feel, now, that I could have done 100% natural without being induced. I don't want to feel coerced into making that decision again. I want skin to skin immediately, wait for my placenta to come naturally, and cut the umbilcal off when it has become pale, a decision that i wasnt allowed to make with my first. I'd hold off on vaccines at first except the vitamin k.

We are planning on a home birth for our first child this August. We would like to use our insurance to cover the cost of a doula, we currently have a Blue Shield HMO plan. We would like this birth to be as positive and as natural as possible with little to no intervention, but understand hospital transfers do happen and that’s perfectly ok. I would really like a doula to help guide me and encourage/empower me to believe in my body’s natural ability to give birth at home. Attending the birth will be two midwives, my husband and my mom, and possibly a doula!

Hospital Birth, Using Medical, Dual Spanish Speaker mostly english needed is okay as well, First time mother surprised with child due to being told having infertility issues so need someone gentle and understanding due to my fear.

I’m not sure which hospital out of loma linda, rancho, or Kaiser riverside so I’d like help with that decision as well. I have Kaiser that covers doula services so I’m not sure how to go about pay for that or how it works but want to learn more. I’m a also a first time mom and didn’t even know people went into labor with a “plan” so any information and guidance on what would be best as a black mom for maternal healthcare and for a black infant would be appreciated.
