About me
My calling is birthwork and motherhood, and in this season, I believe my mission is centered on nurturing the mother so she can nourish the fruit. Myself as The Milk Root Doula ™ was born from a deep desire to restore my ancestral lineage and power of Black and Brown breastfeeding, providing a space where nourishment is reclaimed as a radical act of love. I am rooted in the belief that when a mother is firmly planted in support, her entire family can bloom. While my heart is dedicated to closing the gaps in Black maternal health, I welcome all families who value an evidence-based approach to the sacred transition of birth and infant feeding. I am a firm advocate for all birthing people and every infant feeding choice. Whether you are nursing, pumping, or formula feeding, my priority is a healthy baby and a whole, supported mother. I bring a unique "doula heart and clinical mind" to this work, backed by a B.S. in Maternal and Infant Health from Howard University and years of experience as a clinical birth assistant and doula. At The Milk Root, I bridge the gap between academic excellence and the intuitive power of the perinatal period. Whether I am assisting you through the intensity of labor, providing peer lactation support, or guiding your mental and emotional wellness, I am here to ensure your journey is protected. I don’t just offer services; I offer a foundation—helping you grow deep roots so your family can thrive for generations.

Service introduction
The Milk Root provides a sanctuary for families seeking evidence-based, culturally congruent support throughout the transformative journey of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. As a birth and postpartum doula, I offer personalized labor support, comfort measures, and advocacy to help you navigate your birthing experience with confidence. My goal is to ensure you feel seen, heard, and empowered as you transition into parenthood, bridging the gap between clinical care and the emotional nourishment every new family deserves. Specializing in lactation and perinatal wellness, my services extend beyond the birth room to provide comprehensive feeding support and mental health advocacy. Whether you are navigating the early days of breastfeeding, seeking guidance on infant nutrition, or looking for a supportive space to process the emotional shifts of the fourth trimester, The Milk Root is here to ground your experience in expert care. I am dedicated to fostering a community where maternal health is prioritized and where every parent has the tools to flourish.
