Myriam Lukoff, a native French speaker originally from Montreal is a compassionate doula and trained in Spinning Babies now living in Shrewsbury. With a degree in physiology from McGill University and over two decades experience in early childhood education, she integrates her knowledge and passion working with families towards a profound dedication in accompanying mothers on their unique childbirth journey. Myriam strives to empower women discovering and embracing their innate strength during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. She blends cultural sensitivity with unwavering support, ensuring every mother's voice is heard and honored. Her desire to become a doula was a result of how remarkably different and transformative each of her personal childbirth experiences were. Her volunteer work with organizations such as JFCS’s ‘Journey to Safety’ has deepened her commitment towards women feeling empowered, including those affected by domestic violence, highlighting her commitment to the safety and wellbeing of mothers and their children. I’ve always been drawn to warm, comforting meals and the traditions behind them, especially those that focus on nourishment, digestion, and rebuilding energy. After my own postpartum experience, I saw how much of that support is often missing once you come home. Even simple things like having a warm meal ready or a moment to sit and breathe can feel hard to come by and that stayed with me. Now, I prepare nourishing meals ahead of time and bring them ready for you, so you don’t have to think about what to eat while you’re recovering. While you take that time to eat or rest, I take care of the kitchen, laundry, and the small day to day things that can quickly build up, so your space feels steady and cared for. I’ve spent more than 15 years supporting families through birth, postpartum recovery, and overnight newborn care. I began my career as a professional nanny, working closely with more than a dozen children over several years. In 2008, I was honored to be recognized as Nanny of the Year by Family Helpers, and the following year I was selected as a finalist to appear on ABC’s America’s Supernanny. In 2009, I trained as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. Around the same time, I became a parent myself. Experiencing the postpartum period firsthand gave me a deeper understanding of how vulnerable, complex, and important those early weeks can be. That experience ultimately shaped my decision to focus my work on supporting families during birth and the transition home with a new baby. Over the years, I have attended 112 births and supported more than 200 families, including 39 sets of twins, through postpartum and overnight newborn care. As my private practice grew, I founded Nightingale Night Nurses, an overnight newborn care agency based in Massachusetts. Through that work, I built and led a team of experienced Postpartum Doulas, Newborn Care Specialists, and nurses, creating individualized care plans for families seeking overnight and extended newborn support. Building on that foundation, I later expanded the work nationally under the name Well Supported Family, with a continued focus on ethical practices, professional sustainability, and high-quality, family-centered care.
