About me

Hi! My name is Stephanie McElhaney and I am a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula located in Mesa, Arizona. I have been fascinated by birth and the magnificence of our bodies since I was a teen. I believe that birth can be beautiful when we prepare our bodies and minds for the experience and have the knowledge to make decisions out of confidence and not fear. In my free time I like to play volleyball, hang out with my kids, and read fantasy books.

Service introduction

I offer birth and postpartum doula services because I know how hard childbirth and postpartum can be. But I also know how beautiful each phase can be as well. I want to be able to help other moms feel empowered in their experiences. I have had 3 kids of my own and have been a doula for 3.5 years. I offer childbirth education in the prenatal appointments and on hand support during labor to help you feel confident in your abilities as a woman. During the postpartum period, I am available to answer any questions and be a shoulder to lean on when you are exhausted and need support. I truly believe that in this period of our lives, we thrive when we have women who love and support us, and I love to be part of that!

Birth Support

This package includes: - 2 prenatal visits lasting from 1-2 hours to get acquainted with you and your partner; discuss your birth preferences, labor-management techniques, comfort measures, and more! - Assistance in creating your birth plan - Access to my lending library - Continuous text, phone, and email support upon hire - 24 hour on-call availability from approximately 38 weeks on - My continuous support at your labor and birth starting from when you feel you need me until when you feel fully supported after delivery (usually 1-3 hours after birth) - Written timeline of birth -1 postpartum visit 1-3 weeks after birth to review how you are feeling and adjusting to motherhood

Postpartum Support

This package includes: Overnight care: I come to your house to care for baby throughout the night to allow mom and dad rest and recovery time. Meal preparation: I can do grocery pickup for you and/or help prep meals allowing you time to eat well while focusing on family time with your newest addition Assistance with household tasks: I can help with laundry, light housekeeping, bottle washing, and tidying to help give you more chance to rest and bond with baby
