I started out as a birth photographer in 2017 and my passion for helping families discover what birthing options are available to them so that they can make informed decisions and have an empowering birth experience led to me diving into doula support in early 2024. I then got certified as a birth and postpartum doula in March of 2025. Although I am focusing on doula support at the moment and not currently offering birth photography sessions, I am happy to use your phone to take pictures and videos of you during labor/birth so you can preserve these precious memories. Seeing the striking images of pregnant Black mothers protesting around the country ignited the fire in me to finally complete my training to become a certified perinatal educator - meaning I can provide childbirth education, prenatal support, labor and delivery support, lactation support, and newborn care support. But my calling to birth work started on the day I was born with my mother being hospitalized for 2 months postpartum from an avoidable mistake during an emergency c-section. I value empathy, collaboration, and being open minded. As a doula, I am intentional about serving my clients in a way that supports self-empowerment, so they feel they have all the information they feel they need to make the best decision for them and their baby/babies. Hello my name is Nia, I was introduced to the wonderful world of birth work during my sister’s pregnancy. As I was helping the practitioner, she hinted at the fact that she was a Doula.
