Hi everyone! My names Theanna and I am a birth and postpartum doula as well a childbirth educator! I’ve known ever since I was little I was meant to work in the birth world and being a doula has opened my world up to so many amazing opportunities. After attending my first birth as a doula I knew that this is what I was meant to do. I’d love to schedule a consultation and talk about ways I can support you and your family through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I trained with Michelle L'Esperance-Muñoz and Warm Welcome Doula Academy in western Massachusetts in and participated in BORN Collective's doula mentoring program in the SF Bay Area in Summer 2024 . I've also completed Hypnobabies Academy's online Hypnobirthing course. Additional influences for me as a birthworker include Ina May Gaskin, Dr. Rebecca Dekker (Evidence-Based Birth), Our Bodies, Ourselves, Liam Kali (Maia Midwifery & Fertility), Sabia Wade (Birthing Liberation) and Prentis Hemphill (What It Takes to Heal) I am a white, upper-middle class, well-educated out lesbian woman and part of the disability community. My interests besides birthwork include architecture and design, enjoying western Massachusetts and the San Francisco Bay Area's beautiful natural landscapes, and quality time with people and animals I love. Authenticity flows through my birthwork and enhances my capacity to understand and connect with people. I provide embodied, mindful, compassionate, knowledgeable accompaniment and witness for families of all kinds, including solo birthing people and those with existing support from a partner and birth team. I am especially excited to work with LGBTQ+ and disabled clients, along with families anticipating bringing a disabled kiddo into the world. Disability can be a positively transformative experience and one I am well-equipped to support pregnant people and their partners through.

I had been a stay at home mother since the birth of my first son in 1995. Since then I had three more babies and loved being pregnant and giving birth. Every aspect of motherhood comes very natural to me and being a stay at home Mom had been the perfect fit. I live in Bethany, CT with my husband and children. As my children had grown and became more self-sufficient I realized that my energy and enthusiasm needed to be put to good use. Hi, I’m Kolby, a full spectrum doula! I come from a big family and have always loved birth & babies. I have been working with children for the past 10 years. In college, I studied nursing (my mom is a nurse), as well as reproductive health. As a doula, I love being able to care for babies and help families adjust to this new stage of life. It makes me happy knowing I’m making a difference in someone’s home. Building relationships and trust with families is important to me, something I take seriously as your doula. Prior to becoming a doula, I worked as an overnight newborn care specialist, nanny and infant teacher– supporting babies and collaborating with parents. I also LOVE working with multiples– I have worked with several multiples families including twins and triplets.

My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering women giving birth stems from my desire to combat the maternal and infant health crisis that disproportionately impacts the birth experiences and outcomes of Black women.
