I have lived in Florida all my life. My happy place is by the ocean listening to the waves. I am married to my college sweetheart and we have 3 beautiful, wild boys. Hello there! My name is Rachel Sultzer and I am a Certified Lactation Counselor, Certified Breastfeeding Educator and Certied Postpartum and Infant Care Doula located in Jacksonville, Florida. My passion for child and family care stems from my start as a childcare provider over twenty (20) years ago. Most recently my role as full time nanny quickly reaffirmed my strength in not only caring for infants and small children, but providing comprehensive family support - especially to new and nursing mothers. After serving as a volunteer “Infant Cuddler” for at-risk infants at the UF Shands neonatal intensive care unit, my dedication to helping children was deepened even more. After watching one of my mamas struggle with breastfeeding and experience first hand the the lack of support and education from the community of people surrounding her, I knew I wanted to do more to help; I had to do more. In July 2017 I received my Lactation Counselor Certification from Healthy Children Project Inc., Center for Breastfeeding. I then moved to Saint Augustine to help my family take care of my beloved grandfather (Pe-Paw.) I lived in Saint Augustine for 28 years and recently moved to Palm Coast Florida. Hello! I am a birth and postpartum doula in Volusia County and servicing within a 50 mile radius. I got started in the birth community after the birth of my daughter. I had a wonderful experience, in part due to the wonderful midwives who attended me throughout my pregnancy and labor, as well as the postpartum doula who came to my home at 2 in the morning to help me with her when I was losing my sanity. These experiences made me want to give to other women, and I found my way into doula work. It has been the most rewarding work I have ever done, and I love doing it. Hi there, I'm Jen, the doula and photographer! I offer maternity, birth and newborn sessions. I am married to my wonderful husband with whom I share seven energetic kiddos, ranging in age from 1 to 12 years! My personal birth experiences, a mix of hospital and home, are what ultimately ignited my passion for helping other women along in their journey to motherhood. It baffled me that so many women don't receive the support and education they deserve. My youngest 3 children were born at home, and I was then able to finally experience how powerfully transformative birth can be when done with absolute support and reverence to the process. It wasn't until the birth of my 7th child, I felt the Lord impress upon my heart to pursue birth work. After linking up with Sylvia Scarlett, I attended a DONA International doula training course with the amazing Rae Davies to gain a broader perspective of birth, aside from my very own, diverse experiences.
