I took a childbirth class and it was like have a tour guide to help me navigate on my journey. I became passionate about doing this for others as well. Luminary Birth provides comprehensive childbirth education to shine a light on your power from within and from those who came before you. To empower birthing people to make informed decisions for themselves and their babies throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond. ​ Our mission is to provide a safe, sacred space where all people can feel welcome and open while we pull back the curtain on birth and explore what is happening to the human body, what our options are, and how we can find support for all that is to come.

I’m Jen Ballew, a birth and postpartum practitioner with over a decade of experience supporting families through the sacred threshold of bringing new life into the world. My work blends somatic wisdom, trauma-informed support, and a deep respect for each family’s unique path. As the founder of The Parenthood Project, I’ve created a holistic framework that weaves together evidence-based education, nervous system regulation, and community-centered care. My postpartum support is especially focused on helping parents recover in body and spirit, adjust to new rhythms, and feel truly nurtured in the early weeks and months after birth. Alissa is a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, as well as a Newborn Care Specialist. She has a passion for supporting moms through some of the biggest moments in their lives and it is her hope to support and empower you and your family through this continued journey. Like most new moms before her, Alissa learned about her needs and those of her babies the challenging way. Reading books and taking advice from others was all she had as she journeyed through each unique pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience of her own two littles.

I'm Brazilian, and I'm a mom of two girls. My cultural Background and my daughter's birth experiences are deeply connected to my decision to become a doula. Growing up, I used to listen to my mother's birth stories, which helped me see childbirth as a grand and beautiful event. For me, the idea of giving birth was always sacred - but it was through the births of my two daughters that I truly understood what it means to give birth. After my second birth, I knew I wanted to become the kind of support person who had been essential to me during my own experience. In 2021 I began walking the path to become a Doula.

I love helping women connect to their God given strength and wisdom. My own doula was instrumental in my peaceful HBAC (home birth after cesarean) which inspired me to become that support for other women. So here I am! I've said goodbye to my 9-5 and have committed to letting God guide me through serving families in my community during such a special time in their lives.

Yose is a Holistic Birth and Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Educator, and Birthrights advocate in Orange County, California. Her passion for Birth Work began in 2020 when she got pregnant with her daughter Kailani. During pregnancy she prepared mentally, physically, and spiritually for labor, but did not prepare for the postpartum period. With no family or support around made her 4th trimester a very difficult time for her and her partner. Yose completed her Birth Worker training with Bebo Mia Inc when her daughter was only 3 months old. After the training she realized that she wanted to take a more ancestral approach in birth work, and began learning about Mexican Birth and Postpartum Traditions. She Is constantly growing and learning! As your Doula Yose will walk with you through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Hello! I’m so happy you’ve found me. I love being a midwife, it’s a deep part of who I am. Since I was very young, I’ve had a unique love and wonder for babies and families. Serving families as a midwife is my dream job, my calling, and there is nothing I’d rather spend my days (and nights) doing. I’ve devoted the last near decade of my life to birth work. I’ve been privileged to walk with hundreds of families on parts of their special journeys. It’s through these years of experience that I’ve grown my passions by seeing how much work there is to do to improve the lives of families. My job as a midwife is to nurture the natural process of pregnancy and birth, and to continually evaluate when birth is normal and remaining low-risk, and when a higher-risk situation is developing. Birth is an amazing and powerful process, demanding a healthy respect and awe. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

Since 2014 she has been helping families feel more informed, confident and empowered to achieve their goals as they welcome a new little soul into their lives. Nicolle is also a mother to two sweet and energetic boys, whose births opened the gateway to her passion for the perinatal period and find new ways to delight and challenge her daily!

I am a birth doula and childbirth mentor/educator located in Orange County, CA. The primary focus of my work is to improve birth outcomes for marginalized communities and to reduce (ideally eradicate) birth trauma. My training is mostly through an organization called Birthing From Within and I highly recommend their reading materials for individuals at any stage, from pre-conception to postpartum. My philosophy is that you, the pregnant person, have all of the wisdom and ability within you and we can work together to awaken that within you.

It was my and the experience of so many other women that has catapulted me into maternity area of healthcare in which I strive with all of who I am to help pregnant women, husbands, and other supporters of pregnant women (moms, grandmothers, sisters, brothers, etc.) become educated and empowered advocates while in the birthing space. I have over 19 years of nursing experience as a nurse and nurse practitioner and am a clinical expert in my field. I have also helped support several pregnant, laboring and post-partum moms and partners navigate through the their maternity journeys.
