About me

I have been a career nanny in San Francisco for 11 years , I have worked steadily for two families that entire time. Since all 4 kids I have helped raise ( two sets of twins ) are now in school, Doula work seemed like a perfect transition. I spent the summer getting my Professional Doula Certificate and I am also CPR and First aid certified. I have over 30 years infant experience, am well versed in sleep training and come with impeccable references. I look forward to hearing from you!

Service introduction

I work predominately as a Night Doula with 8 to 10 hour shifts. I am very well versed in most things related to newborn care, and get great satisfaction helping new parents make the biggest transition of their lives. I am a young grandmother who has helped my daughter and her husband welcome both their babies into this world . I think this experience helps me relate easily to the parents I work for who don't have the support of family near by. I see my role as a doula as one to take care loving care of not only the infant but their parents as well. I charge 45/hr and usually work 8pm to 6 am.

Julia was INVALUABLE as a doula for our first child! We worked with her for about 3 months after his birth as both a night nurse and a daytime nanny. My husband and I felt very overwhelmed at first and it was incredible to come home from the hospital and have Julia orienting us at home. She has a ton of expertise from her own experience with her family as well as her doula studies, and is great at balancing that experience with a respect for your own wishes & goals. She taught us a ton of soothing techniques, new ways to hold the baby, and ways to help his digestion with massages (which was crucial in the early weeks when he was dealing with a lot of GI issues!). She's also incredibly flexible, & easy to schedule & coordinate with, which was great for taking away stress during a busy time. The best part though is that Julia truly cares about the children she works with - she is very warm & we felt like she truly formed a connection with our baby and wanted the best for him, which as a parent is the most important thing. We continue to stay in touch. Highly recommend working with Julia!

Julia was incredible! She helped us for a few months, starting the night we came home with our new little boy. We were new parents and felt like we had no idea what were doing. Julia was everything we needed. She was up to speed on all the modern pediatric recommendations, but having been through it all herself before she also had a foundation of practicality and calmness that we needed. She cared for our child incredibly well and was a pleasure to spend so much time with during what could be an otherwise stressful item. I couldn't recommend her highly enough.

Julia has acted as our doula for both of our daughters who are now 6 months and 4 years. I cant say enough good things about Julia she is; knowledgeable, patient and very thoughtful. She didnt just take care of our babies , she took care of everyone in the family . After our second baby Julia was very intentional about giving our four year old attention as well, it helped make her feel more a part of the whole process. Anyone would be lucky to have Julia as their Postpartum Doula.
