I’m Sam! I am an internationally board certified lactation consultant as well as a trained postpartum and birth doula. I always knew I wanted to work with babies and families and started off as a professional nanny. Then when I had my first and started breastfeeding I fell in love with it and was such an advocate for everyone to breastfeed. It wasn’t until my 2nd daughter that I even knew lactation consultants were a thing. I got referred to one and when I met her she changed the game. So I went to Henry Ford College to get my certification and graduated from the lactation program in 2022. I understand firsthand the challenges and joys that come with feeding your baby, and I’m here to provide compassionate, personalized care to help you feel confident every step of the way. Every feeding journey is different just like every baby and parent is.
South Lyon, Michigan
Hi all, my name is Debra Young and I am a Certified Birth and Postpatum Doula, Lactation Support located in South Lyon, MI. My career has been working with family and children. Coming from a background in Social Work and Clinical Therapy, I believe birth can be calm, peaceful and joyus, if we set the right atmosphere with positive and constructive plan. Nurturing Doula Care, LLC tries to create comfortable and non-judgmental environment for all parents seeking informational and emotional support. In my free time, I enjoy being creative, decorating, making centerpieces, cooking and enjoying family, my husband, children, grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
I have nothing but great things to say about Debra! I was her client during 2024, and had my son in November 2024. I never hired a doula with my oldest so the process was as new to me and I wasn't sure what to expect, but Debra met me where I was at and guided me through the process so it was effortless. She was always available either by text or call and always checked in on me and made sure that I had any information and support I may need! I'm not in contact with my mother so Debra, being and mother and grandmother herself brought the motherly vibes which looking back is something I personally preferred Vs having a doula around my age. She actively listened to my preferences surrounding my birth experience and when the time came she was both respectful and thoughtful of my wishes. She advocated for things I didn't want in the delivery room for me while I was deep in labor. If you want a kind, caring, compassionate, reliable, and loving doula please don't think twice about hiring Debra you will not regret it!

Hello! My name is Lauryn Jaworski. I am a brand new Birth and Postpartum Doula. I recently got certified and I am on the look-out for my first family to assist, right now focusing primarily on daytime Postpartum clients. A little bit about me: I am 25 years old and currently a Nanny. I have babysat ever since I was 11, but have professionally worked as a Nanny for over 5 years, with experience working with infants to teens. Although I do not have children myself, I am passionate about women's health and supporting and uplighting women no matter what, but especially in the most crucial and special time of their lives after giving birth. I believe in the cliché saying, "it takes a village", because it really, truly does. I was inspired by the mother of a family I nannied for, for 2 years, when she had given birth to their 3rd child. I got to be there through every postpartum experience and I knew It was something I wanted to explore more of and help other women through their postpartum journey. There is not a lot of support out there for women after they have given birth and I want to be a hand to hold, a ear to listen, and a helping hand wherever needed, to ensure a seamless postpartum recovery.

I found my passion for birth work in 2024 after having a triumphant unmedicated VBAC with my second child. I spent the year working closely with a Certified Professional Midwife handling midwifery administration and birth assisting. In my personal life, I have spent years as a patient advocate for chronically ill family members, and I understand the intricacies of navigating the healthcare system. Having an ideal birth looks different for each individual. My goal is to provide support and advocacy to enable my clients to achieve the birth of their dreams, whatever that may look like.

Hi there! I'm Jill, and I'm an IBCLC and a holistic sleep specialist. I work with families to get to the root of their feeding and/or sleep challenges. I accept several insurance plans and offer sliding scale pricing for out of network clients. Unique from other IBCLCs and sleep consultants, I work with families to help understand & address the root cause of their baby's night wakings without ANY form of separation-based sleep training. My approach centers attachment and is informed by neuroscience & infant brain development, as well as biological feeding norms. Because I specialized training in lactation care, oral function, and nutrition, I have helped hundreds of families identify missed (or dismissed) issues affecting sleep and improve their child's health & well-being for life.

I'm Stephanie with Gentle Birthing, and my interest in birth work was awakened the day my first child was born in 2010 at home, surrounded by our midwife and birthing team. It was at that point I realized that more women need to know their birthing options. We had 4 more home water births in South Carolina before returning to Southeast Michigan where we welcomed our 6th child at home in 2020. I enjoy learning about the physiology of pregnancy and the process of giving birth and am fascinated with all the different natural coping techniques for pain management. With each of my own births, I implemented something new I had learned along the way. I hope to support expecting mothers in the ways I have received encouragement and support from the birth workers in my life. Their support changed the way I thought about birth and what I was capable of doing.
Stephanie was a great help to us as we prepared for the arrival of our fourth baby and during delivery as well.

I’m Cameasha. I support melanin moms to take control of their pregnancy and birth to amplify their voice, feel confident in her plan and empowered in her journey. I am a Mom of 4 small ones. The youngest is 6 weeks. I am human just like you. Mommying is hard work and I am not above doing what I am telling you. It has actually not just changed my life but the quality of my life. Before I began prioritizing me, and working on my wellbeing, I felt like the whole world was closing in on me and no one cared. The expectations placed on moms is both flattering and irrational. But we hold our heads high and push through no matter what. Birth and pregnancy is an amazing thing but it can also be stressful without the right support and information to hold space and do exactly what you WANT. Not be gaslit or coerced into something you don't. Having an advocate that is there for YOU to support you. I started Strength of A Mommy to emphasize how moms are strong mentally, physically, and emotionally but we are not always superwoman, we are human. I wanted to also support moms to focus on their Mental and Physical Fitness prioritizing their health and putting themselves first. I believe in and focus on a whole person approach. Starting with mental fitness, physical fitness and emotional fitness. I have a Master’s in Forensic Psychology focusing on behavior, I am also a certified Personal trainer credentialed in nutrition, prenatal fitness and prenatal yoga to be able to offer mental, emotional, and physical well being for the mommies I serve.. I became a doula because I wanted to serve moms from the start supporting them to build their voice feeling empowered/strong from the beginning. I began my journey of being a Doula because of my pregnancy and birth experiences. They were good, bad, wonderful, and ugly. It was joyful and stressful all in one. In those moments where I felt low, fear, and defeated… it would have been amazing to have support and advocacy. So breathe mommy, I understand and I am here for you. My goal is to help as many moms as possible to never feel unsupported, overwhelmed, stuck, or alone. That feeling sucked. You are a mommy, but you are so much more and I am ready to support you how you need it.
