Carolyn was absolutely instrumental during our birth planning and delivery! "Calm Beginnings" really defines it, she supported us to have the best experience when meeting our little one for the first time, making all the experience much more enjoyable. We are so happy we chose her to make part of such an important chapter in our lives, very grateful for having her support.

Carolyn was a blessing and we are so happy we found her when we did! We used her nighttime services to help us get a good night's rest for two months and it was a lifesaver. She was punctual, kind, and informative. I would definitely use her services again. I highly recommend!

I cannot recommend Carolyn enough! Hiring her was easily the best decision we made during our pregnancy. From our first prenatal meeting, Carolyn brought such a calm, knowledgeable presence that put our minds at ease. During labor, she was an absolute rock. She stayed there the entire time, even though she was pregnant too. As a first time dad, her assistance in the labor room was invaluable. She knew exactly what to say and do when things got intense - whether it was suggesting a new position, applying counter-pressure, or just reminding us to breathe. She didn't just support the birth; she supported us as a couple, ensuring I felt involved and helpful without being overwhelmed. We truly feel we couldn't have had the positive experience we did without her guidance and advocacy. If we have another baby, Carolyn will be the first person we call!

My experience with Carolyn was amazing. From our first virtual meeting up to and through my labor and delivery she made me and my husband feel comfortable, supported, and confident. Carolyn helped me with crafting my birth plan so that I could effectively communicate with hospital staff. She supported my wants/needs during labor both mentally and physically . It was so special to have her by my side as I gave birth to my first child.

Carolyn was my doula for my home birth with our first baby. Our baby was born in the wee hours of March 1, 2025. Carolyn was a godsend! Before the actual birth she had been checking in with me as the months and days came nearer to my due date. I actually met Carolyn for a chat before I decided to have her as my doula, and out of the 3 doulas I interviewed, Carolyn and I just “clicked!” She’s funny, engaging, calm, steady, and surprisingly tall! I couldn’t wait to have her as my doula for our home birth! She was giving me tips and tricks as I neared the due date on how to get baby in position, etc. The night/morning of the actual birth, she came around midnight when I was in active labor. She was sooooo helpful to me with positioning, comfort measures, words of encouragement, and she is just so steadying and calm. She has this awesome grounding energy which I desperately needed! She stayed til after things settled the morning of the birth, and came by a few days later to check in on me and baby, offering advice to help us on our journey! It’s such an giant “unknown” with your first birth, and I’m so glad Carolyn was at my side! I highly recommend her!

We hired Carolyn as a night time doula while we were staying in St. Louis for 2 weeks after our baby was born. She came every other night to care for him, and was very flexible when we requested she do her shift an hour later than her usual scheduled time. She made our experience so much more pleasant when we had to stay in the residential hotel before flying home to California. We didn't have to worry so much about losing too much sleep during the first couple weeks. Carolyn's care allowed us to really bond with our baby as we felt more well rested and could focus on him. She also went above and beyond the night before we were scheduled to fly back to California. She came for her shift even though it was snowing and stayed extra time in the morning. She allowed us to have a great first 2 weeks with our son and we are so thankful for her services! Would highly recommend her as a doula!

I’m a first time mom and knew I wanted doula support to feel ready and confident during my birth. Carolyn was exactly what I needed all throughout my almost 40 hour labor! She knew so many calming techniques and made sure my partner stayed involved as well. Even when things didn’t go exactly as I planned, she helped me stay calm and confident in myself. She communicates quickly and is so easy to talk to! Her wealth of knowledge was helpful during my pregnancy, and has been helpful postpartum too with breastfeeding and random baby questions :) One of the midwives mentioned that Carolyn is one of the best doula’s she’s seen in a while because she offered the perfect amount of support without being overbearing or controlling of the birth experience. She really is amazing! If I have another baby she’ll be the first person I reach out to!
