Hello! My name is Kadijah Torian and I am a certified Birth Doula, Community Health Worker and Diverse Lactation Instructor in Columbus,Ohio. I am a wife and mother of 4 handsome boys. Aside from my family nothing gives me more joy than: advocating, empowering and supporting families in the birthing space. When I’m not serving in this space I can be found at an organization serving as the Senior Manager of Pregnancy and Perinatal Supports ensuring families are being connected to the right resources. Self-Care for me looks like I like to reading, writing, baking and shopping. Talk soon!
Kadijah was very professional throughout my experience. Her personality made me feel very comfortable in trusting her. She was also very knowledgeable and thorough about the details that I needed to know. I definitely would recommend her!!

I love helping women understand and awaken to their own power in birth. Babies profoundly benefit from their mothers feeling a sense of empowerment and freedom throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. During this meaningful and normal physiological process, there is a hormonal orchestra that helps both mom and baby to dance and shift their way into each other's arms. My goal is to protect this space, offering a balance of privacy vs suggestions and guidance. Part of my expertise lies in recognizing and distinguishing normal from abnormal during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. It is an honor and privilege to walk beside families in their childbearing seasons and adjust care to fit individual needs.
Review for Shelly As I approached the end of my pregnancy, I started to reconsider the free birth I had been planning and began to explore my options. I came across Shelly through Facebook, and we talked at length about what I had envisioned for this birth. Shelly asked very concise questions in order to acquaint herself with my expectations and to deliver a reasonable response to those expectations. She was thorough and honest. Ultimately we both decided that she would attend my birth and provide me with the hands off approach that I desired in my birth. As my due date came and passed, Shelly was speaking with me daily. She provided me with further reassurance that things were going smoothly. She not only answered my questions, but conferred with other midwives in the community so that she could be certain she was giving me all of the information she had available. Shelly and Staci arrived right on time for my birth, responding immediately to my husbands call. They entered my home peacefully and with the utmost reverence for the birthing space I had created. Their presence was non intrusive, and they waited patiently until my husband and I needed them in the room. Shelly allowed me to birth the way I intuitively desired, and asked to step in when she realized my baby girl wasn’t descending any further. She used her judgment in adjusting my position and assisting me with catching my baby. She provided all the necessary care after delivery, paid great attention to details in checking over my placenta and baby, and allowed my husband and I to get comfortable. Shelly followed up promptly and further provided comfort and care to myself and my newborn. She kindly went over the birth with me and we shared some of our passions and thoughts regarding the experience. Shelly was fantastic, adaptable, and humble. She is a great person, and a great midwife. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to get in touch with a midwife, and I truly hope she is able to leave her permanent mark in the birthing community.

A trailblazer and advocate for women’s health and wellness, Dr. Alicia C. Baker has made it her mission to cultivate safe spaces for growing families and bridge the gaps in healthcare education for patients and clients alike. In 2011 Dr. Baker earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Emory University. In 2016, she acquired her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Dayton. After years of practice as a pelvic floor therapist, Dr. Baker took a leap of faith and changed the way she does PT. She went mobile, with a special target for pelvic floor patients. With multiple requests for birth assistance from patients, she became a certified Doula backed by experience supporting new mothers with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, geriatric pregnancy, and VBAC. As “The Doula PT”, Dr. Alicia actively engages within her community to guide women in ways to live and birth with confidence through pelvic floor therapy and birth support. Her goal is to empower her patients and clients by bringing light to the ways to improve health outcomes and heal their bodies.
Alicia is an incredible Doula! At my first few OB appointments I was unhappy with my experiences, and I felt a great mistrust with my OB doctors. As a first-time expectant mother, I knew I needed an advocate who would bridge the gap between a traditional hospital birth and having an empowering spiritual birthing experience. After first meeting Alicia I felt so empowered! I knew birth does not always go according to plan, but I knew she was going to do everything to help me achieve the birthing experience I wanted. I was so impressed by how much she educated both me and my husband. When I was in labor all this education really helped. As I was laboring at home I hit a wall, and Alicia came over at 3am and helped to keep me mentally strong and progressing through labor. Even though it was the middle of the night she showed up with energy and encouragement. At the hospital she advocated for me to be on wireless monitoring and to use a squat bar and stability ball. When it came time to push, she supported me in remaining side-lying when the OB wanted me to flip to my back. Alicia used her knowledge throughout my labor to suggest laboring positions and provide pain easing techniques to help me have the unmedicated birth I wanted. Without her help, I know having this birthing experience would not have been possible. She kept the spiritual part in our birth and prayed with us throughout our labor. Because of Alicia, the birth of our daughter brought me and my husband closer, and I love the way he beams with pride when he tells people about our daughter’s birth. This is truly Alicia’s calling in life, and having her as a doula was truly a blessing. Brittany S

Hi, I'm Salina! I'm a birth doula working towards certification, and while I haven't attended any births just yet, supporting moms and families through pregnancy and birth lights a fire in my soul. I believe birth is powerful, personal, and deeply sacred and no one should ever have to go through it feeling alone. This is your birth and your power- I am here to support you and your choices through pregnancy, labor, and birth. I am cheering you on as you walk through this next chapter, and whether this is your first baby or your fifth, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Let's nurture every step together. ❤️
Salina is incredibly supportive, always offering both emotional encouragement and a wealth of knowledge. She has a very calm presence, especially during the more overwhelming moments. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a grounded, knowledgeable, and compassionate doula.

I generally don't respond to requests through here, I can easily be found through various locations. My journey into midwifery started with the birth of my first child Oliana who was born by cesarean after planning a homebirth. That birth left me excited to be a mother but also confused about healing and breastfeeding. I had a lot of support in the postpartum including from our local ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) chapter. Community was important in healing and building me up as a mother during my early parenting years and community is what drives me today. In 2009 I attended Birthing From Within training in Austin learning the art of mentoring new parents through the childbearing year. My youngest child Silas was born at home in 2011, I stepped back from birth work during my pregnancy and the years after he was born. I found I needed a lot of quiet contemplation during this time and he needed a lot of time with me. In 2014 I attended toLabor doula and activist training and started a midwifery apprenticeship with CHOICE. In 2018 I became a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) specialized in out of hospital birth. I live in Columbus with my two children. We have a thriving backyard garden and are into composting and sustainable growing practices. I’m an avid reader and researcher. I try to keep up with current research around the pregnancy year and take multiple trainings a year to broaden my knowledge base. I support clients seeking homebirth and monitrice care in the Columbus, Ohio metro area and offer online coaching sessions to people who live outside of my radius of roughly an hour. I have a special interest in families planning a VBAC and HBAC (Vaginal/Home Birth After Cesarean). I am an Army veteran serving 4 years on active duty in Germany and 3 years in the reserves in Columbus. I have an undergraduate degree from Ohio State in Political Science and Women’s Studies (now Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies).

Hi, I'm Victoria, also known as VicTheDoula, and I am the proud owner of The Crowned Nest Doula Company. As a dedicated doula, my mission is to support birthing individuals through their unique pregnancy journeys. Primarily, I offer remote doula services via text, calls, and Zoom meetings, ensuring that you have the guidance and support you need from the comfort of your own home. While I may occasionally offer in-person support on a case-by-case basis, my focus is on providing accessible care tailored to your needs. Though I do not have biological children, I am a loving mom of one and a foster/adoptive parent. My passion for becoming a doula stems from my experiences as a queer woman of color, where I have witnessed firsthand how the medical field can sometimes disadvantage women of color. With rising statistics highlighting these disparities, I felt compelled to advocate for those who may feel voiceless. I proudly support all couples and single parents, and my identity within the LGBTQIA+ community brings a unique perspective to my services. If you're seeking a remote doula who can be a steadfast rock during your time of need, provide valuable resources, and assist you and your partner in your journey to parenthood, I am here for you. Let's embark on this beautiful journey together!
Victoria was my doula for my pregnancy. As my sister I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else besides her to be there with me. Remotely and in person she was an amazing resource. When having complications while laboring doctors were ignoring my concerns. Vic quickly stepped in and had doctors realize something was wrong. Due to her diligence we realized my baby had already passed his meconium and an extra team needed to be present at his birth. I ended up having a c section of 25 hrs of laboring but Vic was right there cheering me on. Her being there for the birth of her nephew was pure magical. Best doula ever.

Born and raised in a tight-knit community, I've always had a natural inclination towards helping others. However, it was the birth of my first child that sparked my newfound calling. My own childbirth experience, marked by both challenges and triumphs, ignited a profound desire to assist other women through this transformative period of their lives. My name is Effy, and my journey as a doula is marked by my commitment to inclusivity and cultural sensitivity. I recognize the unique needs and perspectives of each family I work with, ensuring a tailored and supportive experience for all. My bilingual abilities enable me to bridge language barriers, making my services accessible to a diverse clientele. My dedication and innate ability to connect with expectant mothers quickly set me apart in the field. I approach each birth with unwavering compassion, providing emotional support, physical comfort, and evidence-based information to empower women in making informed choices.
Effy is an incredible colleague who is always warm, caring, and open-minded. She listens to concerns and is always ready to help out. Her understanding of how birth impacts cultural biases is so important, and being able to speak with her in Spanish is a big plus. Effy is an amazing mother, doula, and friend, and working with her is a joy because she’s always got a huge smile on her face. She’s super knowledgeable and easy to talk to, making her a fantastic part of our community. Her passion for helping others is truly admirable, and she has been an amazing contribution to the birth worker community. Any client who hires her will receive exceptional service.

Hi I’m Tiffany Becton. I’m a Certified Birth Doula. I support women throughout pregnancy and during labor and delivery. I support at home births as well as hospitals. With my services I provide 3 prenatal visits, day of delivery and a postpartum family follow up. I give mom a nesting party to prepare for the baby. Mom receives a gift bag with my No Cramps tea to drink after birth to help with the bleeding and cramping. I also bengkung bind mom the day after delivery to help with posture and prevent diastasis recti.
Tiffany was my doula for my second pregnancy. She attended a few prenatals and was available via phone and text for any concerns I had. When I went past my due date she came over to exercise with me. She hosted a nesting party and provided herbs for pregnancy and postpartum support. During the birth she used her skills and knowledge to assist me through labor. She was a source of great support and affirmations throughout labor. She goes above and beyond for her clients and I am so lucky to have had her as my doula!

I started working with Becca pretty early in my first trimester. I was a nervous wreck because I had miscarried my pregnancy prior. Best decision I made for myself and my baby! Becca's support brought an ease and confidence to the table that allowed me to move through my pregnancy and actually enjoy it! I labored for 40 hours and in that time period had to make a lot of decisions. Rebecca made sure I understood and was making the best choices for me throughout it all. My daughter is now 10 weeks old and I am still receiving wellness checks and support! I'd 100% recommended Becca to any excepting moms !!

Hi everyone! After I became a mom, I realized how much more I wish I had known. I looked back at all sorts of decisions I made in the birth process that affected my experience. My passion now is to enter the journey with others and make sure they have the information and resources that they need to confidently make decisions for themselves. Birth is also a very vulnerable and major transition in life for both the birther and the partner. My role is to provide reassurance and emotional support to both! Helping you create a plan to come as close to your desired birth experience as possible is also on my list of to do’s. You may know what you want it to feel like but you’re not sure how to achieve that. I’m here to help! Whether you’re having a c-section, a med-free birth, a birth with pain medications, a home birth or a hospital birth, I’m happy to support those decisions and make it the best experience possible. I see myself as a gap-filler. What ever seems to be missing for you (physical, emotional, or informational support), I’m there to fill it in.
Stephanie is a Godsend! Stephanie's warm and loving presence always made us feel comfortable and well-informed during our birth journey. Stephanie cried with us in our lowest moments and celebrated beside us in our highest. Anyone who chooses Stephanie as a Doula will have a close friend, a Mother, a sister, and a knowledgeable advocate.

Hello, mamas! My journey into birth work began when I took prenatal yoga while pregnant with my first baby. These classes had such a profound impact on my pregnancies, labor and births that I knew I wanted to support other women. I believe birth is a natural, beautiful experience. My style incorporates preparing your mind, body and spirit in way of breath work, yoga and child birth education.
Lisa was so wonderful to work with! I am a FTM and came into the process pretty clueless. Lisa was very communicative, caring, and a very important person to have with me during my pregnancy/ labor. She made me feel so important and listened to my wants and needs. I really appreciated her sitting down with my husband and me to explain all the different choices I was able to have during labor. Her prenatal yoga class was also the perfect addition to the whole experience. If a second is in our future, I’d 1000% have her as my doula again!

Hi! I am a christian birth doula that is serving the Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus areas of Ohio! I have been a doula for two years, am DONA certified, and am completely passionate about what I do! I would be honored to serve you on your birth journey.
There is so much to say about our experience with Adara, it cannot possibly fit into one review. I originally wanted a doula due to the fact that I had no prior knowledge of who the provider would be to deliver my daughter and I wanted to have someone who knew and understood my preferences and someone I was comfortable with. That is exactly what Adara turned out to be for us. I interviewed three different services and companies and landed on Adara in the end. She was someone who we got to know and trust over the few months before my daughter arrived. Adara tailored her services to things I was curious to learn and the extra prenatal visits were so helpful in feeling prepared for an unmedicated birth that I wanted. Having Adara with me the whole labor and delivery (almost 29 hours) was so instrumental in getting me through unmedicated and helping me make difficult choices in the end. Without a doubt, if we didn't have Adara with us through this process it would not have been such a wonderful experience.

I never expected to be involved in birth work, yet five years later I am immersed in it loving every moment! My loving husband was the first person to educate me about my birth choices. His encouragement and the birth of my daughter are the reasons why I work in this field. While pregnant with my daughter I became very informed about my body and natural child birth/labor. I read countless books and watched many online videos. I did not realize my passion for birth work until I was asked to be a doula for the midwife who was serving me. She took me under her wing and started me on this journey and I have never looked back. Birth is one of the most sacred, compelling, beautiful, and healing events I have ever experienced. There is nothing compared to witnessing the birthing person bring forth a happy and healthy child. It is something I find incredibly joy-giving and satisfying. Labor In Love Midwifery seeks to serve birthing persons so that they can have a safe and healthy birth.
Jasmine is a wonderful Midwife. I’ve worked with her on mini homebirths. She really takes the mother’s medical care to heart. She listens to the mother’s concerns questions and requests and meets them how she can. I recommend Jasmine Wagster as a homebirth Midwife for a safe and healthy delivery.

Hello! My name is Staci and I am a homebirth midwife. We, my husband and 4 children, have lived in NEOHIO for about 7 years. As a homebirth midwife we are eager to to learn about the family and what moves them to birth at home. We walk with the family throughout pregnancy and give as much information as we can get our hands on to share with them so they can make informed decisions about their birth care. We do all of our visits and care in home. We spend an hour or more if needed at each visit. We cherish this time of intimacy. Health, through food, exercise, and herbs, is our utmost focus. We are continually trying to learn and grow and share with our clients all we can. Some clients prefer to have co-care with an OB OR nurse midwife while others want nothing to do with any hospital care (unless a case of transport). We love to customize our care to our individual families.
I have worked closely with Staci Dasher since January, 2021. First, while apprenticing under her, I learned to appreciate her quiet and calm understanding and teaching of the birth process; watching her engage with clients and discuss the intricacies of how birth unfolds is beautiful to see. Now, as her birth partner I deeply appreciate her commitment to serve families with hands-on, individualized midwifery care and to communicate in ways that ensure that families know they're heard and they are deeply cared for.

Hello and congratulations on your upcoming birth! Birth is a gift. Working a birth doula since 2009 has been a great joy in my life. I love walking the journey with couples - providing caring support, calm confidence, and years of experience to help make birth the best it can be. Other than supporting birth, my favorite days include time with my family (4 grown children and one grandson), being out in nature, prayer, and reading a good book.
We were so thankful to have Cheryl with us during the birth of our son! My husband and I both said we didn’t know what we would’ve done without her! During my long labor, she stayed by my side the entire time and helped with any decisions that arose. She gave us honest answers, making sure we knew the pros and cons of each decision. We appreciated that Cheryl was very conscious of the kind of birth we wanted and did her best with helping us achieve that as much as was in our hands. She worked very well with the other staff during delivery which meant a lot to us. We loved her soft, confident manner. Thank you so much, Cheryl!

Hi friend! I am one of the co-founders of The Village Doulas, a group of birth work and child care experts. We aim to create a village around all parents to help them thrive. My background is in Pediatric Nursing and special education, ranging from wellness pediatric care to a specialized ventilator unit, I have seen a lot! I have known for a long time it is my calling and blessing to help others raise their babies. I believe all of my experiences led me to be doing that as a doula today! I can't wait to get to know you!
I started thinking about hiring a night nurse or nanny before I even got pregnant again, but never in a million years did I think I would actually meet someone I felt like I could truly trust with my baby (especially after suffering severe postpartum anxiety with my first) - that was until I met with Kinsey. I immediately felt a connection with her and after chatting for a bit, knew without a doubt I could count on her to care for my baby. Not only did she have the right background, but hearing her “why” behind starting this business helped seal the deal for me. Kinsey truly has a passion for not only caring for babies, but us mamas as well. After Kinsey left our interview, my husband and I decided to sign a 6 week contract with her. During those 6 weeks, she was unavailable for 2 of them due to traveling (this was disclosed ahead of time during our meeting). She let me know she had a couple other options for us to cover for her during that time, although she was the only pediatric RN. Kinsey knew how much this put me at ease, and she even asked if I wanted to meet one of her colleagues at her doctors office to cover for her, which I thought was very thoughtful! However, I decided I would still like to meet her business partner, Kati and see how I felt. Fast forward to my meeting with Kati, and once again, the moment I met her I felt an instant trust and connection. It was within minutes that I knew I could count on her to cover for Kinsey while she was out of town. 6 weeks later, our contract was up and we decided to renew with Kinsey for an additional month. Of course, shortly after signing, our little guy decided he wanted to pretty much sleep through the night (which I also attribute to Kinsey helping with)! While this was amazing for us, it was also a little frustrating as we juuuust extended our contract. However, Kinsey made sure we were still benefitting from her services at this time. She was not only flexible when it came to days/times, but she helped me with so many projects on my to-do list that I just could never get to caring for a toddler and a newborn - and she put genuine effort and thought into the help too! She helped me with an amazing toy rotation/organization system for my toddler, meal prepped quick and easy meals and snacks for her that I could freeze, and even helped me update all of our photo frames in the living room. Whether she was doing overnight sleep care or something else for us, she truly wanted to make sure she was helping to make this postpartum period as stress free as possible for us as a family. I truly believe that because of Kinsey (and Kati), I escaped postpartum anxiety fueled by lack of sleep this time around. I was able to truly enjoy the newborn stage as a well rested mom without feeling utterly exhausted for months on end like I did the first time around. I was able to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to actually enjoy the day with both my newborn and my 2 year old. My husband and I weren’t snapping on each other from being so tired and waking up all night with a fussy baby. While I know it is a bit of a luxury to be able to hire this kind of help, it is worth every.single.penny. Whether you already have the funds to do it or you have to make certain sacrifices to do it, I’d recommend Kinsey and her services a MILLION times over. You just can’t put a price on rest and mental health (especially during those first few months) and having someone you can truly trust to care for your baby is priceless. 10/10 would recommend Kinsey and The Village Doulas.

Alivia was my doula for my third pregnancy from my second trimester through birth. I had never used a doula before, but I loved my experience. Our first meeting to establish what my goals were for pregnancy and what I needed from her were so helpful to get my focus set on this pregnancy and really set aside time to think and plan. The prenatal meetings were full of great info on ways to have a healthy pregnancy and ways to labor naturally like I wanted. We went over great pregnancy snack ideas and books to read, labor positions and breathing techniques. She was always very responsive when I reached out with questions or updates. When it came time for laboring and birth I'm so glad Alivia was there. Her presence was very calming and reassuring. She coached me through ways to relax and breathe. I honestly grew more confident in having her there, and my whirlwind of a labor needed a little bit of extra confidence and calm. Alivia even went the extra mile by bringing nursing snacks and checking in with me to see how baby and I were doing the next day. Such a considerate and thoughtful person and very good at being an educator and helper.

Hello! I'm Mandee, the owner of "She Must Be Loved Doula Services" My name "Mandee" translates to “she must be loved” or “worthy of love,” which inspired the title of my christian based private doula practice: She Must Be Loved Doula Services. I firmly believe that every mother deserves to feel cherished throughout her journey into motherhood, from preparation to the birthing experience and beyond. While I value the moments spent with newborns, my primary focus is on supporting and uplifting mothers. Although I am newer to the role of a doula -I believe I bring valuable insights derived from my doula training that acquired through the "A woman who serves" doula training program, virtual and in-person care I've provided, as well as my personal experiences as a mother of three daughters. My first daughter was born in London, England; my second in Boston, Massachusetts; and my third in Dublin, Ohio. Throughout this journey, I have been fortunate to receive prenatal midwifery care, with my first daughter delivered by midwives and, continued midwifery support for my subsequent children. The knowledge I gained from this experience was invaluable. Unfortunately, my exceptional midwife could not attend the birth of my second daughter, and I was cared for by an OBGYN. This experience taught me the vital importance of receiving love and compassion from your care provider during childbirth. Despite feeling mistreated by the OBGYN in Boston, I recognize my inherent worthiness of love and compassion, which I strive to extend to others. My third daughter was also delivered with the assistance of an OBGYN here in Ohio. That experience was notably more positive because I found my voice, and my husband and I became strong advocates for my needs and desires. I have learned a lot from my birthing experiences, both overseas and in the United States. I am dedicated to ensuring that other women have the best possible birthing experience. A mother must feel loved to foster a positive and empowering environment. The four pillars of doula support include physical support, emotional support, informational support, and advocacy. Additionally, I aspire to introduce a fifth pillar that holds special significance for me: spiritual support. I will earnestly pray for you, your baby, your family, and your birth experience throughout this transformative journey. God Bless, Mandee Rohn
Mandee was everything I wanted in a doula! Not only did she go above and beyond she made the experience very personal and took amazing care of me during pregnancy, birth and after. She was understanding and catered to all my needs. During my birth she was a vital role in my support system and having her there meant a lot to me. When she showed up she got straight to work in helping me progress with my labor. After birth she has followed up several times for postpartum and was able to help provide feed back regarding everything that happened during my labor and delivery. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a doula, she is very knowledgeable, understanding and kindhearted and it is a bonus to me that she has Christian faith background.
