I created Mommy’s Helper Postpartum In-Home Help Service, LLC (Doula Group) out of my own experience navigating the challenges of postpartum recovery, especially when I struggled with postpartum depression. During that time, I recognized the profound need for compassionate, reliable support, and I wanted to ensure that other mothers had access to the care and understanding they deserve during such a vulnerable time.

I look forward to supporting you ☺️ I’m Nubia, a mom of five (teens & young adults). I have 25years of experience in the birth, postpartum & newborn care field. For 14yrs, I’ve been professionally serving families as a certified birth doula, postpartum doula, parent educator, certified breastfeeding counselor (CLC), an integrative nutrition health coach (IIN) and a student midwife. My journey started in the year 2000 in my hometown of Washington, DC. In 2015, I relocated to the New York area. In Fall of 2026, I’ll be relocating to Cali! My philosophy: Mothers deserve to be respected, heard and nurtured doing this major transition in life to becoming a mom, whether it’s for the first time or the 8th time! I truly believe It takes a village to raise a family which is what led me to my purpose, heart-centered work of supporting mothers & families. I’m a strong advocate for mothers and families birthing in all settings including hospital, home & birth centers. I respect the many choices in mothering and parenting. It's all about the balance of holistic & medical. My support also includes follow up postpartum healing practices for mom, lactation and pumping support, newborn care and parent coaching. On my spare time I enjoy indulging in health & wellness therapies, spending time in nature, traveling, cooking, dancing, and enjoying quality time with my teenage and young adult children.

During my journey through early motherhood, I saw the struggles of myself and friends. I found a passion for helping others. While doing my training to become a postpartum doula, I realized I also loved learning about breastfeeding. This ignited a fire for me to complete the certification process to become a lactation consultant as well. I provide overnight support of newborns as well resources and education on various infant care topics. I also do in home lactation visits.
