About me

Hello! My name is Kendrah Yardley and I am a birth doula in the Savannah area. I’ve been a doula for 3 years and I am certified with Birth Boot Camp. I focus on serving teen parents up to age 19, but I have a policy of never turning away a client if you feel like we’d be a good fit! I provide support for all types of births with the exception of free births (births without a midwife or OB present). My philosophy of birth has three very simple tenets: Number 1, I believe every birth matters. Your experiences are just as important as anyone else’s and should be treated with the highest levels of respect, confidentiality, and care. Number 2, I trust you. You know your body and your baby better than anyone else, and I will always stand by your right to use your intuition. And number 3, you are in charge! I want you to have the birth that you want, dictated by your rules, and executed in a way that meets your satisfaction. I would be a good fit for you if you are looking for someone who is calm in stressful situations, takes on a small client load in order to prioritize you, and will advocate for your needs and your rights. I support teen moms and their families who are wanting extra support and information as they navigate the journey to motherhood. Pricing begins at $1,550. This includes prenatal meetings, On call time, continuous labor support, postpartum meetings, and initial breastfeeding support.

Frequently asked questions

I really want a doula, but how can I afford the price?

I completely understand that finances are difficult to manage, especially in such an unexpected time in life. There is good news though! There are so many creative ways to afford my fees. These can look like asking family and friends to contribute to a fund in lieu of baby gifts, using your HSA/FSA account, setting up a payment plan with me, or cutting down extra costs like going out to eat and going to the movies. Another great way to bring the cost of my services down is through bartering. Do you have a skill you could provide for me or a hobby you could teach me? I am more than happy to trade time and skill sets for a lower cost to you.

What types of births do you support?

There is only one type of birth that I do not “support” (meaning I do not provide doula work), and that is unassisted/free birth. This is a birth that is unattended by any medical professionals. Other than that, I attend ALL types of births! I support hospital births, home births, birth center births, unmedicated births, planned epidurals, planned c-sections, etc. My deepest desire is for you to feel powerful enough to make your own decisions and feel confident in the knowledge that I will do my absolute best to help you achieve your goals for birth.
