About me

Hi, I’m Fiona Mortensen, founder of Little Pines Doula. I’m a certified postpartum doula, student lactation counselor, and a mom to two little boys under two, proudly supporting families throughout the Greater Seattle and Tacoma areas. My passion for birth and postpartum work began during my time as an EMT in King County, where I had the unforgettable experience of helping a mother deliver her sixth baby. That moment opened my eyes to the beauty and privilege of supporting families during such a powerful transition. Since then, I’ve welcomed my own children—first via cesarean and then through a VBAC—experiences that have deepened my appreciation for the importance of informed, compassionate care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. With a background in emergency medicine—including work on a NICU/PICU transport team and as an ER Technician at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital—I bring a steady, grounded presence and a blend of clinical knowledge and heartfelt support to my doula practice. At Little Pines Doula, I offer non-judgmental, personalized care to meet each family’s unique needs. I especially love helping new parents build confidence and connection as they adjust to life with their baby. Outside of doula work, I love exploring new parks with my boys, relaxing at the beach, and enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. At home, you’ll often find me curled up with an embroidery project and my cats, or sharing laughs and playful moments with my family. I believe joy and humor are essential, and I bring a light-hearted, down-to-earth energy into every family I support. I’m also passionate about learning and am always deepening my knowledge in birth, postpartum care, and lactation—not only to better serve my clients, but because I genuinely love continuing to grow. I truly believe the postpartum period can be one of the most beautiful and transformative times in a family’s life. It’s an honor to walk alongside families during this tender season—and to bring warmth, wisdom, and a few smiles along the way.

At Little Pines Doula Care, I provide compassionate postpartum support for families adjusting to life with a new baby. I offer evening and overnight care, gentle newborn guidance, and lactation support as I complete my certification as a Lactation Counselor. My goal is to nurture confidence, rest, and peace during your fourth trimester.

Evening Support
Evening care is perfect for families who need extra support during the busy and often challenging evening hours. I can assist with newborn care, feeding support (breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or pumping), light household tasks, sibling support, and emotional care for parents. Whether you need help winding down your day or setting up for a smoother night ahead, I’m here to help.

Overnight Support
Overnight care is designed to give parents the precious gift of uninterrupted sleep. I provide attentive overnight care for your baby — feeding support, diaper changes, soothing, and ensuring your baby is settled and cared for throughout the night. You’ll wake up feeling more rested, knowing your baby was nurtured and supported all night long.

Meal prep service
Nourishment is essential for postpartum healing and energy. With this service, I take care of the entire process — from grocery shopping to cooking and preparing meals in your home. I’ll create a variety of wholesome meals, including freezer-friendly options, so you’ll always have nourishing food ready when you need it. Clients are responsible for the cost of groceries, but I handle everything else — shopping, cooking, and prepping. Please note: Meal prep is scheduled separately from postpartum care shifts and takes place outside of the hours I provide in-home family support. Flat rate is based on 4 weeks of care with 10 meal bundles provided plus snacks and breakfast, can be customized to meet your needs

We had the privilege of working with Fiona as our overnight postpartum support doula, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
