About me

Hello! My name is Crystal, and as a wife, mom of three, and registered nurse, I’ve always been drawn to helping others. But it was the alarming reality of our nation’s maternal morbidity and mortality rate that truly ignited my passion. Despite our advanced medical care, too many women are suffering, and I believe it's due to a lack of holistic support. I'm here to change that. As a labor and postpartum doula and childbirth educator, I'm committed to providing compassionate care and evidence-based information to empower women and families. Hey there! I'm here to support you every step of the way through your pregnancy and early parenting journey. I offer a range of services to help make this special time as smooth and joyful as possible. A payment plan is also an option upon consultation with my birth doula services. In my birth education classes, we cover everything from labor techniques to pain management using evidence-based practices, so you feel empowered and ready for childbirth. As your labor doula, I’ll be by your side, providing continuous emotional and physical support to you and your partner, making sure you feel comforted and informed throughout the entire birthing process. Once your little one arrives, I offer postpartum support that's tailored to your family's unique needs. Whether it's newborn care tips, breastfeeding guidance, or just making sure you're taking care of yourself, I've got you covered during those crucial early weeks. I can also help with light housework, laundry, and meal prepping to make those first few weeks a little easier on you. My goal is to create a nurturing environment where your family can thrive, giving you the tools and knowledge to confidently navigate this exciting life transition.

So, imagine having someone by your side who’s got your back (literally and figuratively) throughout your pregnancy and labor. I’ll help you navigate all the options out there with up-to-date, evidence-based info, so you can make choices that feel right for you. We’ll create a birth plan together, just the way you want it, and go over comfort measures and techniques that can really help during labor. And when the big day comes, I’ll be right there with you, offering continuous emotional and physical support. No matter the time, you can text or call me whenever you need some reassurance or have questions. Plus, I’ve got a bunch of great resources and educational materials to share. Postpartum Support

Having me as your postpartum doula can be a real game-changer after your little one arrives. Imagine having someone who's there just for you during those first few weeks—someone who understands what you're going through and is ready to help in any way you need! I'll be there to support you with newborn care tips, breastfeeding guidance, and just making sure you’re feeling okay. We’ll talk about your recovery and ways to make you more comfortable. Need a hand with light housework, laundry, or preparing meals and snacks? I’ve got you covered! And hey, I’m just a text or call away if you need to vent or ask a quick question. I’ll also bring a wealth of resources and education to help you navigate this new chapter smoothly. It’s all about creating a supportive, nurturing environment so you can focus on bonding with your baby and enjoying those precious early moments. 💕😊 $35/hour for day hours (minimum 4hr shift) $45/hr for night hours (minimum 6 hour shift)

Birth-day Prep Class Series

Let's talk about how awesome and empowering childbirth education classes can be. Think of it like having a toolkit for one of the most important events of your life. In my classes, you'll learn everything from labor techniques and pain management to understanding the stages of childbirth and what to expect. We'll cover all the bases, so you feel prepared and confident. We'll discuss practical tips and evidence-based information to help you make informed decisions. Plus, it's a great chance to ask all your questions and get personalized advice. Whether it's breathing exercises, positions for labor, or understanding medical interventions, I’ve got you covered. These classes are all about making sure you and your partner feel ready and empowered for the big day. You'll also meet other parents-to-be, which can be a wonderful source of support and camaraderie. It's all about creating a positive and informed birth experience. 😊 Classes are typically 2hours long and go for a total 4 weeks. Message me and I will send you upcoming start dates.

I have not been able to purchase services yet but I have experienced the care that Crystal provides. When home from maternity leave she brought me meals and when my 10 month old had open heart surgery she came to visit us hours away. She is truly a joy to have along for the journey 💛

Do you accept all forms of Medicaid

Yes, I am credentialed with Iowa Total Care, Molina and Wellpoint. Doula benefits for Wellpoint and Iowa Total Care participants include 5 prenatal/postpartum doula visits and continuous labor support for those who plan to give birth in the hospital setting in Polk County. Molina participants include 7 prenatal/postpartum visits and continuous labor support in the hospital setting.
