Cara is absolutely amazing! She was so helpful during her home visit and made both my husband and I feel so comfortable to ask any and all questions. She had great information and made me feel so much more confident as a first time mom on this breast feeding journey. There is so much unknown in this process and she has been a great resource. The process of working with her was also very easy, to book, follow up and complete/review all pre-appointment information as well as all of the leave behinds she provided as resources. I would 10/10 recommend Cara to anyone looking for lactation support!

I called cara out of desperation and ready to quit. She was so amazing. I had been trying for weeks to get my daughter to nurse, cara got her nursing within 3 seconds. Iv had no problems ever since. I found Cara through a Google search while 39 weeks pregnant and reached out "just in case". She responded SO quickly to my inquiry and got me on her schedule within days! We were actually able to meet before I gave birth, and it made a world of difference when I started my feeding journey. Cara saved my breastfeeding journey! When my child was struggling to get back to birth weight, her pediatrician wasn’t convinced she was getting enough from me and so we were supplementing heavily with formula when Cara came to help us. I wasn’t able to breastfeed my first, so I was really lacking confidence. Cara checked EVERYTHING including her latch and positioning, and did a weighted feed that showed my child was actually getting plenty of milk. When I mentioned pumping wasn’t comfortable Cara measured me and provided inserts for my pump flanges, and now pumping is totally painless. She provided me with a sample of a better shaped bottle to improve her latch on the bottle as well. A week later I was exclusively breastfeeding and my daughter was on weight! We have been able to keep that up since with the tips from the educational materials Cara provided. I wish I had called her before I quit breastfeeding my first child. Don’t hesitate! My daughter and I are happy and healthy thanks to her!

As a first time mom, I knew I wanted to try breastfeeding my baby, but had no idea where to start. Cara was amazing and so helpful in ensuring I had the right positioning for my baby and confirmed I was producing enough to satisfy him. She came right to our house too which allowed us to practice nursing in the spots we would nurse in most (couch, rocker, etc.). In addition, she even provided me with some products to try to treat sore nipples, and also gave me flange inserts that were the correct size for my pump! I was having a difficult time getting my son to latch on the right side it was severely painful throughout the whole time nursing, to the point I stopped nursing on that side and only pumped. Cara was able to come in and help identify the issue and within 10 mins he was able to latch without pain and we both were comfortable. Afterwards Cara sent a follow up email with everything we discussed for me to reference and since her visit nursing has been great. Due to the information I was provided in the hospital, my child shouldn’t have an issue with breastfeeding, but he did. My son has a high palette and had issues with breastfeeding. Cara was such a valuable resource for lactation support. Prior to our appointment she reached out and was available to answer questions. During our appointment she offered great tips, suggestions, and resources. She made me feel very calm and reassured about feeding my newborn. After having my son in April, I was left confused and stressed out about whether or not a medication I was on would negatively affect my baby through breast feeding. I got Caras contact from a friend and called her the first week I was home. After leaving a voicemail, Cara immediately returned my call and without hesitation, had already researched my medication and reassured me that it would not hurt my baby if I chose to breast feed. The relief I felt after talking with her was exactly what I needed after days of fear and hesitation. I was able to schedule an in home visit with her that same week and as soon as she came to the house, a weight was lifted off my shoulders. First time mom I was discharged from the hospital with a baby who wouldn’t latch. Things didn’t go well with lactation in the hospital and I felt like giving up and using formula. Our first night home was so hard for everybody and I was so upset and felt completely unfit (hello hormones). By some grace of God my friend told me about Cara. Cara came to my house the next day, she was beyond informative and compassionate. I felt so at ease with her and it was unlike any other experience. She comes wearing gloves and a mask which every newborn mom will appreciate. She felt like my own personal cheerleader during a terrible feeling of self doubt. With just one session with her my baby is now latched and feeding great. We are beyond lucky and I would recommend Cara to everybody and plan to absolutely continue to work with her! For people who want to get insurance reimbursement, she fills out all the paperwork you need AND provides an addressed envelope with a stamp!

Cara came to my house with an array of tools that she used to help me understand how I could feed my little boy more effectively. We looked at his latch, our position, our current feeding schedule, and my milk supply and helped design a plan for us going forward. She had loads of recommendations for additional resources and wrote a wonderful summary of our session that I will continue to refer to. I contacted her about halfway through my pregnancy and she followed up with me regularly until childbirth to make sure we had a plan. I was so impressed with my initial consultation with Cara. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and organized. She was recommended by a lactation consultant at St. Peter's hospital where I just delivered my son. If you’re looking for a lactation consultant I highly recommend Cara! I had my initial consultation with Cara when my baby was five days old and had two subsequent visits when she was three weeks old and five weeks old. This is my second baby and I really wanted to try to exclusively nurse her if possible (my first baby I exclusively pumped as I struggled a lot with nursing him). I had issues with a painful latch and painful feed on one side and Cara helped me with trying different positions to get a pain-free latch and feed. I was amazed that something that was so painful when I did it on my own was 100% pain free with Cara’s help! It took practice after our appointments with some hiccups. But Cara regularly checked in via text, and each follow up appointment I had gave me the hope and confidence I needed that it IS possible to nurse without pain. I’m so happy now that I’m exclusively nursing my almost 7 week old pain free! Thanks Cara!!
