Hey badass birthing warrior! I'm a mom of two tiny humans, a certified Birth Doula, Birth Photographer and Childbirth Educator serving expectant families throughout Southeast Michigan. I usually serve within an hour of Jackson, MI. I got my start in birth work by being a wedding and family photographer first. Then on Pinterest, I found birth photography photos and I thought it was beautiful. So I got into birth photography and was hooked. Then after I had my first kid, I took a birth doula training and realized that this was my calling. Not everyone has an empowering birth story and I want to help change the cultural attitude around birth by making them excited, (It's okay to be a little nervous!), confident and prepared for birth. I found my passion for birth work in 2024 after having a triumphant unmedicated VBAC with my second child. I spent the year working closely with a Certified Professional Midwife handling midwifery administration and birth assisting. I became a Mother in the Summer of 2014. If I'm being honest, I didn't put much thought into my first birth. I thought I'd just go into the hospital pregnant and come out with a baby. It wasn't until I was in labor and facing an emergency cesarean that I realized that my partner and I were unprepared and unsupported. It was after that first birth that I learned what a Doula was and the trajectory of my entire life shifted. ​ I trained as a Birth Doula in 2016 and since that time I have attended over 160 births in hospitals, birth centers and in homes. In 2021 I have also been a local homebirth assistant since 2021 with my Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification. Over the years my views and beliefs surrounding birth have grown and evolved. I have studied not only the mechanics of the birth process, but the physiological, emotional and spiritual rite of passage that birth truly is.
