My name is Abigail Johnson, a certified doula, wife, & mother. Thanks so much for considering Known Doula Services in your pregnancy & birth journey! Service introduction
I offer a base package consisting of the following: -6 hours of prenatal education (typically 3 sessions lasting 2 hours each) -Assistance with casting your birth plan & defining your birth vision -Attendance at one prenatal visit with the other members of your birth team -Attendance at the start of active labor & birth -24/7 on-call access to me from 37 wks- through birth & the first 4 weeks postpartum -Assistance with breastfeeding as needed -2 days of postpartum meals provided -2 hours of postpartum care & birth processing I believe birth is a natural event not to be feared. In fact, it should be enjoyed by all parties involved! In preparing my clients for a joy-filled birth atmosphere, I focus a lot on education during pregnancy, ensuring both mom & dad are equipped with the information they need. My base package is $1500, with a $750 deposit due at signing. I can be flexible if necessary, & we can talk about that at our discovery meeting! I’m so thankful we had Abby as our doula for our first pregnancy, especially since we had twins! Her reliance upon the Lord and knowledge and also emotional support made all the difference in our pregnancy and labor and delivery journey and also my recovery and our transition after! She did such a good job empowering my husband as well. I also appreciate that she provided food for me after the delivery, and afterward, she sent us our birth story from her perspective and also photos she’d taken during labor and delivery. If she hadn’t taken them, I wouldn’t have any photos of that special, sacred time! I highly recommend her services! You won’t regret it!

When I found out I was pregnant with my first baby, I knew that I wanted to find a doula. From my educational background, I knew that doulas provide incredible support throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum and they significantly reduce your risk for c-section. I began my search immediately, and I am SO thankful that we found Abby with Known Doula Services. Not only were the services she provided us exceptional quality and comprehensive, she is also an incredible person and I felt very comfortable with her. Abby helped prepare my husband and me for our labor, hospital delivery, and postpartum by educating us on our options, and providing us with labor coping skills. Throughout our prenatal visits, Abby made an effort to build a genuine, trusting connection with us and she helped us prepare a written copy of our birth preferences. During labor, Abby stuck by our side through a long labor and worked with the nurses and midwives to help us have the birth we hoped for. She helped us use a variety of coping tactics (that my husband and I would have never known existed) to help me work through the labor process. During postpartum, she was there for us and provided us with the supports we needed. During one of our prenatal visits, Abby asked me if I could name a few words to describe what I hoped for in my birth. The main word that came to mind was “empowered”. Thanks to her, even with many twists and turns that happened during my labor, my birth was just that: empowering. I cannot imagine my labor without her!
