The mental health of women dealing with anxiety and depression related to pregnancy or parenthood is extremely important. Whether you’re trying to become a mother, are pregnant, or have just entered early parenthood – perinatal mood and anxiety disorder serious mental health challenges that need to be addressed. In perinatal therapy, we’ll work through your anxiety and depression related to wherever you are in your motherhood journey. I don’t just work with expecting or new moms – I also work with women who have experienced perinatal trauma. Miscarriages, loss, and infertility are all traumatic experiences that can be worked through in perinatal therapy. If you’re anxious about being pregnant or you experience postpartum depression and anxiety and feeling sad, it’s important to notice what’s coming up for you and what’s scaring you. It’s also normal for new mothers to be irritable and lose connection with their partners. You might have a lower tolerance than you used to.
