Hi, my name is Jyssica Honey. I’ve been a certified full-spectrum doula since 2020, and I’m also a lactation counselor, herbalist, and mama of two. I have more two decades of training and practice as a Maternal Child Health Specialist. For nearly a decade, I worked in a private practice in New York, where nearly a thousand families are served each year, before moving to the greater Detroit area. I sat boards and became certified as an IBCLC in 2010. My university education was uniquely focused on the history of women and infant health care and nutrition as well as practical assessment and support of new families. I have helped women conquer the often challenging stages of lactation. From issues with newborn latching to pain and increasing milk production, I have worked with women to help them have successful nursing experiences – whatever that means for them. As a guest lecturer at medical schools, I have been called upon to teach medical students, interns, and residents in pediatrics and obstetrics about lactation, and have been called in by obstetricians and pediatricians to consult on breastfeeding topics. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Maternal and Child Health and Lactation Consulting at the Union Institute and University of Cincinnati, OH. I am the mother of six and nursed them all for a combined total of over 14 years! Christina Johnson BSPH, CBD, CPD, CCLS, CLC, IBCLC. I am a mother of two. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Wayne State University in 2018. I became a Certified Lactation Counselor in 2018, completed the Clinical and Communication Lactation Specialist training in 2021, and then passed the International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant exam in 2023. I'm certified as a birth and postpartum doula by Lifespan Doulas. Love for my own family and my community has led me to focus on health education, promoting awareness of human lactation, and assisting in extending breastfeeding duration and exclusivity for the families I serve. I am passionate about accessible lactation care and enthusiastic about health and wellness promotion and youth development. My goal is simply to aid others in being healthy and keeping their family healthy. I’m Sam! I am an internationally board certified lactation consultant as well as a trained postpartum and birth doula. I always knew I wanted to work with babies and families and started off as a professional nanny. Then when I had my first and started breastfeeding I fell in love with it and was such an advocate for everyone to breastfeed. It wasn’t until my 2nd daughter that I even knew lactation consultants were a thing. I got referred to one and when I met her she changed the game. So I went to Henry Ford College to get my certification and graduated from the lactation program in 2022.
