Hi, I’m Shterna, a birth doula serving Scranton, Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. I’m also a mother of three, and my own experiences with birth are part of what led me to this work. I support women through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period with a calm, quiet presence. My goal is to support each woman in her flow, to meet her where she is and offer steady support as her experience unfolds in its own way. Birth is such a pivotal and sensitive time, and the transition into the early days afterward can feel just as tender. Every woman deserves to feel fully supported through it all emotionally, physically, and without judgment. My role is to hold space for that experience while offering reassurance, comfort measures, guidance, and continuous support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period. I believe there is no one right way to give birth. Every experience is unique, and every woman’s needs are different. I’m there to support your experience to help you feel cared for, grounded, and supported through one of life’s most transformative seasons. As part of my care, I offer a prenatal visit to support you in preparing for birth. This time can be used to create or refine your birth plan, and I also offer a full body assessment through the Body Ready Method with personalized exercises to help prepare your body for labor and birth. I also offer a postpartum visit focused on rest, recovery, and support in the early days after birth. This may include meal support, caring for your baby or older children, or giving you time to shower and rest. My focus is on helping you feel cared for, grounded, and supported as you adjust to life with your baby. I accept both private pay and Geisinger Medicaid clients.

I offer continuous support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period. During pregnancy, I provide emotional support, guidance, and space to talk through your questions, preferences, and concerns as you prepare for birth. As labor begins, I offer a calm, steady presence—supporting you with comfort measures, positioning, reassurance, and practical guidance for both you and your support person. My role is to help you feel grounded and supported as your labor unfolds. I also provide support during miscarriage and pregnancy loss, as well as pregnancies involving complications or unexpected diagnoses, including birth anomalies. In these moments, I offer a quiet, compassionate presence, emotional support, and space to move through grief, uncertainty, or difficult decisions without judgment or pressure, while providing steady guidance as you navigate complex or uncertain paths. After birth, I continue to support you in the early postpartum period as you adjust to life with your baby. This includes emotional reassurance, newborn transition support, and care as you recover and settle into your new rhythm. My work is centered on meeting you where you are and supporting your individual needs through every stage of the journey.
