Hey family 👋🏾! My name is Shaquetta, pronounced (sha-kwEE-duh). My pronouns are she, her. • A little bit about me-My husband and I relocated our family from Florida to the CSRA several years ago. As a wife and mother of two growing young men with ADHD, I have first hand experience with advocating for, educating and supporting those I love in many different ways. • Experience • I have assisted births mostly in Piedmont Hospital. I am passionate about education and explaining the birthing process to my families. I am big on encouraging my families to be their own biggest advocate. Equipping you with the knowledge to make informed decisions about your health and wellbeing will ensure that your autonomy is protected. You have options. You have control over your health. You have a voice. I have a strong medical background with 8 years experience as a Medical Assistant in Florida and 5 years experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Georgia. • My heart ♥️ -The birthing world has always held a special place in my heart. I did not have the support that I needed during or after any of my birthing experiences. Especially after living through a missed miscarriage🙏🏾. • Aspirations-My aspiration is to become a midwife. On my journey to becoming a midwife, I’ve decided that becoming a doula first, is very crucial for a strong foundation in birth work. • Are you ready?!-I am so excited to connect with you and assist you on your birthing journey! 🤞🏾My pledge is to be present, to be patient, to be compassionate, to educate you, to help you in the areas you need assistance with, and to make your birthing/post partum/lactating experience a beautiful memory in the future.
