About me

Consultant. Doula. Mama. Twenty+ years ago, I ran into a college acquaintance at a friends' wedding. She told me she was a Doula. It was the first I'd ever heard of it. Shortly thereafter, I returned to the New York publishing and theater world, later moved to British Columbia to pursue degrees and a career in arts education, birthed my two favorite humans, and then moved to the Bay Area, California, where I was welcomed into the Jewish professional community. Throughout my movement in these roles, I never stopped thinking about what life would be like as a Doula. It took some time, but here I am, pursuing a decades-long dream. And when I'm not reminiscing about my own transformational career path, or working with growing families across the Bay Area, I'm still singing my children to sleep (even the one who's now taller than me).

Sarah swooped in to help us with our twin boys two days and two nights per week. She was a breath of fresh for these two tired parents! Sarah's nurturing spirit, organizational skills, and general joy was such a relief in our home. I also learned a lot in watching her care for the boys. The twins blossomed in her care as she seamlessly juggled two babies at once. We miss her, but she has left her mark on our family!

Working with Sarah was awesome! She helped us so much as the same-sex couple navigate all the different challenges that we faced in our very first hours, days, and weeks as new fathers. She was amazing!

Sarah is an amazing doula. She has been invaluable as a postpartum doula and I have no doubt that her birth doula work would be comforting, loving, and just as helpful. I hope I am lucky to use her as a birth doula if I have another child. I feel so lucky to have Sarah support my family as we have been kicking off parenthood. Sarah has a beautiful background rich in childcare, play and education that make doula work a seamless new career for her. Some things that make Sarah extra special are her genuine love for little ones and families, her cheerful singing, her nurturing behavior, her approachability (I can also be honest with her about my needs and my feelings which is crucial in these vulnerable stages of life) and she is just someone that I love to spend time with. She is wonderful at listening and providing advice and I couldn't be happier with her. I know my husband feels the same way. The way my baby girl's eyes shine and light up when she sees her Sarah confirms she agrees ;)
