I’m Paty, a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, proudly serving families across the Phoenix area and West Valley — including Goodyear, Buckeye, Litchfield Park, Avondale, Glendale, Surprise, Peoria, and Tolleson.
As a bilingual (English–Spanish) doula with a degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, I bring both heart and knowledge into my care. My background allows me to support families not just physically, but emotionally and educationally — helping them feel calm, confident, empowered and deeply connected throughout their journey.
Since I was a little girl, I’ve dreamed of working in maternal health care. Becoming a doula is truly the fulfillment of that dream — a calling that lets me serve families during one of life’s most transformative seasons.
As a mother of four, including two children I birthed myself, I understand the beauty, vulnerability, and sacredness of giving birth. My mission is to walk beside you — to remind you that you are capable, strong, and deserving of care, respect, and love.
At Madre Moon Doula, I honor the mind, body, and spirit of every birthing person. Together, we’ll embrace the sacredness of bringing new life into the world — one birth, one heartbeat, and one moon phase at a time. 🌕

Frequently asked questions
What is a doula?
A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth. Doulas do not perform medical tasks — instead, we focus on helping families feel calm, informed, and empowered throughout their journey.
Research shows that continuous labor support from a doula is associated with shorter labors, fewer cesareans, and a more positive birth experience (Bohren et al., Cochrane Review, 2017).
How is a doula different from a midwife or nurse?
Midwives and nurses provide medical care, such as monitoring the baby and mother’s health and managing any complications.
A doula provides non-medical support, focusing on your comfort, emotional well-being, and informed decision-making.
Together, doulas and clinical staff form a powerful, complementary team — supporting your birth physically, emotionally, and medically.
What are the benefits of having a doula?
Studies consistently show that people who have doula support experience:
Shorter labors
Reduced need for pain medication
Lower rates of cesarean birth
Higher satisfaction with their birth experience
(Bohren et al., 2017, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews)
Beyond statistics, families often describe feeling more confident, respected, and emotionally supported — no matter how their birth unfolds.
Does a doula replace my partner or family support?
Not at all! A doula enhances your partner’s or family’s support. I provide tools, reassurance, and suggestions so that your loved ones can feel confident in their role too.
Many partners say having a doula made them feel more involved and less anxious during birth.
What kinds of comfort measures do you use?
I use a variety of techniques, including:
Guided breathing and relaxation
Gentle massage and counter-pressure
Body movements and positioning to support progress and comfort during labor
Hydration, rest, and environment suggestions (lighting, music, scent, etc.)
These practices are all based on research showing that movement, continuous support, and comfort-focused care can positively influence birth outcomes.
Do you support all types of births?
Absolutely. I support hospital, birth center, and home births, as well as medicated, unmedicated, and cesarean births.
My role is to help you feel informed, respected, and empowered — no matter how or where your baby is born.
