About me

Hello! So great to meet you, I'm Max! I am a LGBT/ Queer affirming birth doula who brings a unique perspective to the pregnancy and laboring experience. My background in body work and physical therapy gives me a distinctive understanding of how to apply my skills as a doula to physiological birth. My calming presence is reassuring to those I'm supporting, and their families. I am passionate about empowering all pregnant and birthing people. My strength is my adaptability; which allows me to support families in their choices. I am a parent to my 13year old clone, who I birthed at home. I run a suburban goat farm and have two giant fur babies that try to steal my bed. (Great Danes named Freyja and Kuma). I enjoy dad jokes, puns, and free books. I identify as a transmasc, nonbinary human. I use they/he pronouns.

Service introduction

Birth Doula- I like to include prenatal visits with this. I prefer to meet about every 5 weeks during your pregnancy, starting when you hire me. This also gives me the opportunity to really dig into how you see your birth, clarifications of what you've heard, managing expectations and fears, and some educational components. This may seem like a lot, but I'm about to be involved in a very intimate moment of your life. I feel like we should get to know each other first! I'm also on call for you from 37 weeks until delivery (unless otherwise discussed). You decide when I come to meet you during your labor. I also like to come by your house and check on you and baby about a week after birth.

Packages
Standard Package: Pregnancy, Labor & Birth Doula
This fee covers me being on call during your labor window, all our prenatal, and one postpartum meetings. I prefer to meet at least 3 times before your birth; ideally every 5 weeks. The better I know you the better I can support you! There's a lot of education involved in what I do, so the earlier you decide to hire me as your doula the more I have to offer. A nonrefundable deposit of $1000 is due when we sign a contract. The balance of $1,000 is due at your 34 week appointment.

Gender Doula
This package is custom curated based on your needs. I can help navigate the name change system in Texas, as well as offer insight to medical and social transition options and advocacy. I'm comfortable assisting all people of all gender variants and questioning folks as well.

Max is the best. I have very complicated pregnancies and work in ob so max understands my stress levels and always put me at ease through out. Our family worked with max during my second pregnancy which was debatably the worst, and my third. Max always had a plan for our sessions and understood how crappy things were for a mom with hg. When it came to my labor all the prep work I did with him absolutely paid off. During these pregnancies I felt more skilled because max. He helped me remain present, create realistic goals, and take care of myself which can be so difficult. I truely trust the work he does and feel that he is such a valuable member of my birth team. Doulas are a blessing.

HE ID BEYOND AMAZING!! Even the hospital Staff were surprised by his knowledge and said they wish more duals were like him! I love how we met once a month to talk about how I was doing and even visited me at home after I gave birth. When he says he is in it for the long haul he means it! I was induced on the 18th and did not have my son till the 20th he stayed with me the whole time!

Max was an incredible support throughout my entire pregnancy and made us smile even on hard days. I was very sick my entire pregnancy and had a lot of physical pain due to babies position. Max had lots of suggestions and was always willing to lend an ear. They let my toddler come to appointments and always had things to teach me and new realistic goals. The kind of support and love our family received was incredible. I recommend max highly.

Just wanted to share how much I appreciated Max at a birth last night during which I was the L&D nurse. As a labor nurse who was a doula, I am often sadly in shock of things doulas do and say. It isn't how I practiced and find that it puts a bad image out there for doulas in general. But Max was so professional, did such a great job educating the client, and respected the boundaries of nurse/doula. I really appreciated Max and was proud of the way they represented the doula profession.

Caring, professional and most of all affirming. Exactly who people giving birth need by their side. I cannot recommend them enough.

Max is an amazing human being, but they are an even better human doing! How lucky we all are to have Max join us as a colleague and friend in the birthing community. Max is dedicated to gaining all knowledge in an effort to best support all birthing people. Their desire and drive to learn will serve their clients well and completely. I'm so honored to have been a part of their journey and I can't wait to watch them change the world, one birth at a time.
