I’m planing to give birth at Providence St Joseph hospital in Burbank. It would not be my first choice as I was hoping for a home birth. Unfortunately, I was laid off last year and have been unable to find work. I’m hoping to find support covered by medi-cal. I would like my birth to be unmediated and with as little intervention as possible. This is my first birth so I do feel a bit nervous. I would only like my husband and doula in the room (along with any necessary medial care team). I would like to be able to move freely and have help getting into positions that will help me through the various stages of labor. I’d also love to spend time in the bath. I want skin to skin right away and delayed cord clamping.

I would like support during pregnancy with education, preparing for labor, helping me understand my options, and creating a birth plan/preferences document. During labor, I’m looking for someone calm and supportive who can help me advocate for myself, ask questions, and help me process decisions without pressure unless medically necessary. Postpartum support is my biggest priority. I would like help with recovery, breastfeeding/pumping support, newborn guidance, emotional reassurance, and preparing to return to work as an elementary teacher. Baby was just born Dec 28 2025, and she’s really struggling mentally and with the baby. The baby is not sleeping well at all and she’s having trouble latching him on to breast feed. I want to provide her support, she feels like she is failing as a mom and I know what it’s like to feel that way (I work as active duty military and am a single mom so I can’t really take too much time to help her my self right now).
