About me

Hi there! I’m Kayla, the face behind The Empowered Birth. I’m a birth doula, but really think of me as your personal hype woman or cheerleader. I am here for YOU and your birth desires. My typical package includes 2 prenatal appointments, support throughout labor and birth, and 1 postpartum visit. I go on call for you from 38-42 weeks. Looking forward to working with you!

Kayla was so helpful in helping my husband and I prepare for the birth of our daughter. We met twice prenatally and Kayla was able to walk us through the labor process. She answered our questions promptly and was always available when needed. When I had specific concerns about a provider, Kayla talked me off a ledge while holding my hand and making me feel heard. I highly recommend Kayla as your birth doula. If you are looking for someone who is calm, knowledgeable about birth and the options available in the Richmond area, energetic but not over the top, Kayla is your girl.
