My wife and I recently had our second baby (home birth) with the help of Katrina. We transitioned from our first which we had through the hospital system which convinced us to have a c-section. After our first baby we vowed to avoid the hospital at all costs. From our experience, the mainstream doctors and nurses use high pressure tactics to lead you into doing what they want. Speaking to other families and listening to their experiences were very similar, it seemed they were all pressured into getting c-sections. It makes sense from the doctor's point of view, that c-sections provide the least liability to them since they are in complete control of the delivery. Why would a hospital doctor/surgeon want a random schedule, not knowing when they would need to deliver a baby? Besides this, whenever we questioned the doctors if there was some unnecessary test or inspection, we were met with pushback, they wouldn't take no for an answer unless we were stern with them. Looking back at it, the doctors were always ready to tell us the risks associated with denying some of their services, but were never really transparent with the risks associated with their recommendations. The difference between Katrina and the hospital system is night and day. The home birth experience from my point of view was very calming the whole way through, which is what set our baby up to have good sleep patterns. We plan to call on Katrina to deliver our next ones, and we definitely recommend her to anyone who may be open to a home birth. Thank you Katrina.

Best of the best and we have had four natural births. 3 of which were at birthing centers then my fourth and BEST pregnancy experience with a midwife was with Katrina! I had been referred to her by a friend and really just thought let’s do this because my dream was to have a home birth because of the comfort of my own home and having three littles it was just sounding better and easier for our family. Katrina came with the most respectable manner towards her profession. Experienced, educational, professional, kind, caring to a degree you would want someone with delivering innocence into the world that’s Katrina. I never once thought she would not do what she needed to do to help me as I felt she would do whatever it took to help me and my baby. The bond with her was just strong and wise and I just needed her, I really did and she didn’t let me down spiritually or physically. Our family enjoyed the visits as much as I did being the expecting mother. Doing labs were simple and quick and reassuring as I do hate labs. The laughing and memories I will embrace for the rest of my life as I found every single thing I wanted to experience with Katrina as my midwife. She was prepared and in control, hands on, focused and so helpful. Any phone call or text we got answers fast even as fourth time of being an expecting family yes we still needed the help and she just was present for our needs. We are forever grateful for finding Katrina as our midwife. For our first birth we worked with breath of life and ended up birthing at Morton plant. So for our second birth we really wanted a different experience. We prayed and interviewed several midwives. After the first meeting with Katrina, both my husband and I knew we wanted her as our midwife for all future births. We’ve had 2 pregnancies and births with her now and I could go on and on about how amazing she is. She is the best provider we’ve had by far. Choosing Katrina as my midwife was a lovely experience. I had a lot of life events happen during my pregnancy and she was kind, compassionate, and held my hand through my journey. After the birth center I used for my previous births closed I was nervous to look elsewhere, but from the moment we first spoke I was instantly at ease. Her prenatal visits always felt like a friend coming over to visit. She involved my other two children when they happened to be home during an appointment...even our dog loved her. During the birth she was present but hands off and guided me through my quick labor. She had the utmost respect and reverence for me, my body, and the birth process. From the moment I met Katrina I felt comfortable. After having 2 hospital births, that was of the utmost importance to me. She has a calming presence, yet is clearly confident in her skills.
