About me

Hi, I’m Katie—an IBCLC dedicated to supporting families with compassionate, evidence-based care. I received my lactation training through Metropolitan State University of Denver and have spent the past eight years working as both a birth and postpartum doula, supporting more than 100 families through some of the most tender and transformative moments of their lives. I come to lactation work with a foundation in Nutrition, holding a bachelor’s degree from UNC.  I have three kiddos of my own—each with their own unique breastfeeding journey. These experiences deepen my understanding that every family’s path is different, and every goal is valid. I truly love being welcomed into people’s homes and consider the postpartum period a sacred space. My approach is grounded in respect, collaboration, and meeting families exactly where they are—whether they’re navigating challenges, exploring their feeding options, or simply seeking reassurance. When I’m not working with families, you can find me snowboarding, traveling, reading, cooking, and hanging out with my little crew, hopefully outside, having an adventure!

Service introduction

Upon hiring, I will be available via text, phone or email to listen and help answer all the questions! Through prenatal visits, I want to become part of your team, your tribe. My hope is to form a strong connection with you and your partner, we will become a birth-team unique to you and your goals and desires. I am excited to cheer you on, support your partner and be at your side throughout your birth journey. One of the biggest goals I have for you in your birth is that you and your partner feel confident, heard and celebrated throughout your birth. After your birth, I usually help with those first feedings and that immediate postpartum period and then will leave you tucked in, getting to know your baby and counting all of their perfect toes and fingers. After you've settled in at home, I will pop over to check in on you and your new babe. We can address any questions you have, revisit your birth story and help you process this significant event.

I used Katie for the birth of my first son and my second son. If I were to have a third child, I would use her again. She is knowledgeable, a calming presence and was supportive in the exact ways I needed her to be for both births. I am so happy with how my labor and delivery went each time and I feel like Katie played a huge role in me being able to feel that way. I would recommend katie highly to anyone looking for a doula.
