Juliet was an incredible addition to our first pregnancy and birth experience. Juliet is a wonderful listener - attentive and in tune to our approach and areas of pregnancy, birth and post-partum that were not as familiar with (and had more questions or concerns). Juliet is incredibly well informed and knowledgeable and her advice/care was always informed by research and expertise, and without judgment. Juliet’s goals were to ensure we were well supported, had an advocate in the room during a hospital birth and to ensure that our experiences were as consistent with our own expectations as possible - not her own expectations, views etc. As someone who has been a people pleaser my whole life, I had assumed so much about the doula relationship and whether there were expectations to labour a certain way but Juliet made very clear that this was my journey (and my partner’s) and that she was there to support us in achieving that. As Juliet says, “You’re the boss!”. Juliet shares a number of resources and tips throughout the relationship which we found to be very helpful (and clearing a lot of the social media pregnancy advice noise). While my labour experience was not what we expected or hoped for, I still walked away from it feeling very positive and cared for, and I especially felt like I was able to make decisions along the way with Juliet’s support of my agency. Juliet was by my side (literally) every step of the way and I’m so grateful for her positive and calming energy through it all. We cannot recommend Juliet enough.
