Hey there! My name is Julie Winter. I am board certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and RN. I have been serving moms and babies for 12 years now as a lactation consultant and an RN with all of my focus either in pediatrics or maternal health for the last 18 years. I use my expert assessment skills and knowledge of infant development to guide my families through the journey of caring for their newest little addition. Parents need a cheer leader and someone who's been there and done that a time or two...or four, to support them through sleepless nights and the fog that is early parenthood. I am located in Winter Garden Florida and service the surrounding Orlando area.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2007)
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (2019)
Certified lactation Counselor (2014)

Lactation Consultation can cover a wide range to services to promote the health infants and moms. Latch and positioning to assist with painful latching. Weighted feeds to answer the biggest question most moms have which is how much is my baby getting at the breast. Pumping and flange fitting for combo feeding. Assistance with bottle feeding. Returning to work and devising a plan for pumping success. Introducing solids and assessing readiness for starting solids. Making expert referrals for tongue tie provides for evaluation and management of feeding issues.
My newborn and I were having a bit of a struggle with breastfeeding until I found Julie with Cradled Arms. She was a true help and answer to prayer! She was so helpful teaching & showing me how to help my baby latch, using resources, and giving encouragement. Julie went above and beyond in providing help and information on breastfeeding and even bottle feeding, which by the way, did you know your little one could still need help getting the correct latch with a bottle? Yea, me either until Julie taught me! She made my little one and I feel comfortable and heard and was there for us to have a successful breastfeeding journey. Highly recommend seeing Julie.

She helped me come up with a pumping plan and I am now producing enough for my baby and a healthy freezer stash! She has been a wealth of knowledge and is so sweet and easy to talk to! She is always willing to help and answer any questions I have! Highly recommend her!

Julie is a highly skilled lactation consultant and overall a loving, caring human being! My journey ended up being exclusively pumping which I struggled to navigate. Within weeks of seeing Julie, I was able to fully feed my little one without any supplementing! My next goal was to create an over supply to donate, which was achieved flawlessly! Highly recommend Julie for your lactation needs!

Julie was such a joy to work with. We really don’t know what we would have done those first couple weeks without her! I am a brand new first time Mom, and after a very difficult and emotional birth, I wanted to share my experience with Julie Winter, Cradled Arms Lactation Care because I truly believe this is a must for all new moms (my sessions are even covered by insurance) and without her I think I would have carried my birth trauma with me and given up on breastfeeding completely.

Julie has an office in Dr. Matthew Smith’s office and he came highly recommended from this page and many others, so just a few days postpartum at our first pediatric appointment, I was barely functioning, in so much pain, so swollen and engorged, and on the verge of tears every hour because I couldn’t pump, couldn’t latch, and felt like I was starving my baby and about to give up on breastfeeding. It felt like fate that she was able to pop in and after seeing the state I was in, squeeze me in for an appointment after her next client was finished.

While she gave me resources and tips during that squeezed in appointment on how to relieve the swelling, fit me for the right flange size to reduce pain while pumping, she molded the appointment to exactly what my needs for breastfeeding were, and that was reassurance that childbirth, recovery, and this new skill of what I’m asking my body is extremely difficult and that we will work together over a few sessions to make it work and make it pain free. The stress melted away and that night I was able to pump a few ounces, my baby was able to latch, and I felt like it was going to be OK for the first time since delivery.

I had no plans during pregnancy to see a lactation consultant, but I now believe this should be as necessary as the first pediatrician visit. I hope this helps future mamas to be who plan to pump or nurse.

Julie was a life-saver for our family. After finding out my son had a heart defect, and then he wasn’t gaining weight as needed, my anxiety was at an all time high. Her expert guidance and genuine care made all the difference in my breastfeeding journey. She listened attentively, addressed my concerns, and provided tailored solutions that boosted my confidence. Thanks to her support, I feel empowered and confident to continue our breastfeeding journey which was one of my biggest goals. After a few sessions and ensuring proper weight gain with exclusively pumping, I was able to exclusively breastfeed with a great latch and no stress. Her support made all the difference at such a stressful time in our lives. I highly recommend!

As a mother of four, I can confidently say that Julie is an absolute gem in the world of lactation consultants. Julie went above and beyond to ensure that my breastfeeding journey with my 4th baby was as smooth and successful as possible.
She was proactive and started consultations even before birth and by doing so, she took the time to understand my breastfeeding goals and any past challenges I had faced, making a personalized plan tailored to our needs.
Throughout my pregnancy, Julie remained in touch, checking in via text to see how everything was progressing. After the birth, she wasted no time in getting us in for an appointment to evaluate any potential early issues.
After the first few weeks I was still having latching trouble and Julie was there for us again, providing invaluable support with positioning corrections to ensure a deeper latch. I appreciated her gentle approach and wealth of knowledge at each visit.
Even after our in-person sessions, she continued to follow up via text for weeks, ensuring that we were on the right track and didn't need further assistance.
What I loved most about Julie is that she made me feel comfortable and never imposed her views, but instead worked collaboratively with me to achieve what was best for my baby and me. Her support empowered me to continue breastfeeding, and I'm thrilled to say that we're still going strong at 9 weeks. This would not have been possible without her.
Julie's expertise, kindness, and ongoing support make her a true lifesaver for mothers navigating breastfeeding and I will forever be grateful for her!

Each session with Julie has been awesome! She is so relatable and takes your concerns and addresses them with realistic solutions! She made me feel at ease, answered all my questions thoroughly, checked in with me, also provided a follow up with resources. I feel so seen and heard, which has not been my experience when seeking lactation counseling in the past! She even helped me create a “back to work” plan for pumping. It’s so hard not to get emotional about what Julie did for my baby girl Charity and I. In the early stage we had real problems with feeding. The feelings of guilt and helplessness were just so overwhelming. It was anyway until I got to talk to Julie. Julie is so friendly, helpful and a true expert in her craft! Her love and passion for mothers and babies really shows through in what she does.

I can't even begin to describe how much we appreciate Julie and her ability to connect with people. My new little one had a lot of trouble with latching and it was driving my wife mad as she felt it was her fault. Julie stepped in and provided amazing support for both my new little one AND my wife. Julie made her feel incredible comfortable and it truly helped having someone like her to help my wife during this time. Newborns are so stressful (at least mine was) and Julie really helped relieve some of that.

Julie's guidance has been invaluable. She not only helped me navigate the challenges of lactation but also fostered a profound connection between me and my baby. Her vulnerability, support, and unconditional love make this journey transformative. After a traumatic first pregnancy, Julie's assistance during postpartum was a game-changer. I wish I had this support with my first child. Breastfeeding, with Julie's guidance, is not just a beautiful experience; it's enduring and empowering, creating a unique bond that words can't capture. Grateful for Julie's support in stepping back into my divine self.
