About me

I am passionate about providing care that nurtures your autonomy by strengthening your connection to your emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual needs throughout the birth journey. With a deep respect for the legacy of community midwifery and a commitment to inclusive, affirming care, I strive to create safe spaces where every family feels seen and empowered. Outside of birth work, I enjoy being outdoors, learning all about homesteading, trying new foods, and reading. I still enjoy teaching, especially about informed and embodied consent, and I hope to learn enough to share knowledge about placentas and herbs. These passions help me stay grounded and serve as a reminder to show myself the love and care I hope to impart on others.

Refunds

I will make every effort to provide the services described here. If my failure to attend your birth is due to my error, and a backup doula is not available, I will offer additional postpartum services in lieu of monetary reimbursement. If my failure to attend your birth is due to an error on your part (i.e. failing to call me) I will retain the full amount paid and continue my services to completion. If I am not allowed to your birth due to hospital/provider policies, I will offer additional postpartum services in lieu of monetary reimbursement. If my failure to attend your birth is due to a rapid labor (baby is born less than one hour after you call me and ask me to come), I will offer an additional postpartum visit for support at no additional cost once you leave the hospital or birth center. This can include assistance with breastfeeding, laundry, light cleaning, baby care, etc. My full fee applies. Any other circumstances out of my control (weather, act of god, hospital policy, etc) that result in my absence at your birth or your voluntary termination of this contract will not be refunded, however additional postpartum support may be offered in lieu of monetary value.

What is a full spectrum doula?

My training with Ancient Song equipped me with skills to support families through birth, postpartum, and loss. As well as supporting families with resources for a variety of life circumstances.

What is an Integrated Lactation and Feeding Specialist (ILFS)?

My ILFS training taught me how support families with the goal of feeding baby is best, however you choose to do it. I am also trained to assist with people who have had breast/chest surgery, non-lactating parent support, LGBTQIA+ families, and returning to work feeding goals.

Paying with FSA/HSA

In order to use your FSA/HSA, you will have to pay the fee for services up front. I will provide you with a superbill that you submit with a letter of medical necessity stating you are pregnant from your care provider. You should receive reimbursement from your FSA/HSA plan provider.

Paying with Virginia Medicaid

You must obtain a recommendation of services form to your provider (I can send or print one if they do not have it). I will verify your medicaid eligibility and submit my verification of services to Virginia Medicaid. I am not currently accepting MCO insurance such as Humana, Anthem Healthkeepers etc.
