I'm just exploring this option for my daughter who gave birth to twins August 2, 2024. Right now, her husband is working as much as possible, which includes many evenings. The hardest time for my daughter is between 6:00 - 8:00 pm when she's trying to get the babies both down to bed. Most of the time she's doing it alone, and sometimes it wrecks her trying to feed them both, navigate crying (and one crying makes the other one cry), etc. It's a very difficult battle right now. I had this idea of getting her a helper even 2-3 times per week. We would want someone reliable, flexible, well-experienced with babies and bedtime routines. To clarify, this would be to just come in alongside my daughter and help with the bedtime routine. So the help would be feeding them (bottle and solids), settling, and then getting them to bed. My daughter is 25 years old, and the twins are now 6 months old. Cost is a major factor to consider, and I have no idea of even the ballpark of a night nanny. The only other additional help that might be so appreciated is potentially help with dishes. Our budget is around $300/month.
