About the class

In our Prep For Post class created by Kate Littlefield (LCMHC) , a doula will guide you through making an extensive, four page, postpartum wellness plan including budget, risk factors, communication agreements and boundaries as well as how and when to ask for help when challenges arise. “designed based on years of experience in which parents in various stages of parenting said “nobody ever told me…” and realizing that there are definitely more things we could be telling parents before the arrival of a new baby - whether it’s the first baby or a new baby arriving to a home with seasoned parents.” It is designed to be inclusive of all kinds of parents and families - first time parents, seasoned parents, single-parents, multiple caregivers, children who arrive by birth as well as adoption. We have also strived to be inclusive of race, gender, sexual orientation. This course is in two parts, please make sure to sign up for the first session on Tuesday March 24th, 2026. The cost of this course is included with part one so you do need to sign up for both. As part of this course you will be given a workbook and four check-in calls (once a quarter) to see how you're doing and if any changes need to be made to your plan or if you need any additional resources through out the first year of baby's life. This course is meant for you to bring a support person so each booking accounts for two people attending.

Izabel Looney

Moving to Wisconsin November 1, 2025. Izabel (she/her) is a birth doula trained through DONA International and a postpartum doula trained through CAPPA. She is in the final stages of completing her formal certifications for both. Izabel made her way into birth work in 2021 due to a strong desire to be with families at a monumental time and in 2024 added her transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) certifications to better support birthing parents who want more options around pain management. Supporting you and your family through something as special as birth makes her heart sing. She looks forward to supporting your family’s journey through pregnancy and throughout the postpartum period of time. In her free time she loves to hike and go white water kayaking and is an avid reader. Izabel expresses her creativity through crocheting, painting, and metalwork, and she loves cooking for others and sharing a love of food with those in her community.
