Hi, My name is Elaine and I am a trained Nurse from the United Kingdom with a Postpartum Doula/Newborn Specialist experience which I acquired while I was living and working in England. I am based in White Rock BC. Canada. My passion has always been to see women transition into motherhood effortlessly with great support readily available to assist them with the complexities of being a new mother with my knowledge, skills and experience dealing with newborns as well as postpartum concerns. An old African proverb says: 'It takes a village to raise a child' and I have found that to be so true when I gave birth to premature babies on two separate occasions. The level of professional support I received from the nursing staff at my local hospital not only helped me to adjust to motherhood as a young 23 year old but it actually defined my future career which ultimately led to me become a nurse. It is therefore my desire to ensure that all mothers who I assist will get the opportunity to feel truly supported by me, to enable them to experience a smooth transition into motherhood.
