I have been so blessed to have jobs I have loved all my life - wife, mother, grandmother, registered nurse, pregnancy care center director, lactation consultant and certified postpartum doula. It is hard to believe it has been over 50 years since nursing school. Though I would never have thought so in nursing school, my focus has always been all things moms, babies and families. This journey has taken me from basic knowledge of how babies are born to a deep respect of the profound changes that take place within the childbearing family, because we are so fearfully and wonderfully made.

I had a wonderful experience with Debbie and the 5-Day Postpartum Check. I didn’t know what questions I would have as a first time mom - but I was able to ask Debbie every day in that first week after returning home from the hospital. All the unknowns were a quick answer and short video that Debbie could send me right away. Debbie even made time to check in my with husband to answer his questions. I highly recommend the 5-Day Postpartum Check with Debbie! She saved me hours of sifting through research and gave me practical alternatives to every question!

Debbie was so incredibly helpful during my journey breastfeeding my twins! After a 2 month NICU stay, breastfeeding twins with reflux felt so overwhelming. Debbie’s suggestions made everything so much easier and allowed tandem breastfeeding to be a possibility for us! I am forever grateful to her! Thank you Debbie :)

Debbie has now helped me through 2 breastfeeding journeys & I cannot recommend her enough! Debbie’s demeanor is exactly what I needed both times, in those early postpartum days. She’s sweet, understanding, thorough, & very respectful! With my first, I breastfed for 18 months until I got pregnant with my 2nd son & am now successfully continuing to breastfeed him as well! If you need lactation support during any part of your journey, reach out to Debbie!

Debbie Chalk and Liz Aldrich really helped and continue to help me through my Lactation journey. Even if I thought all was lost, they gave me hope and encouraged me in my journey even if it means that I am exclusively pumping. The techniques and the supplements were excellent. But more than that it was the moral support that really helped me a lot.

People believe that breastfeeding will just come naturally to you once you have a child. That was not my experience and talking to a lot of my peers, that was not theirs either. It’s so common to struggle and to feel like you are failing and it’s even harder to reach out and ask for help. Once I reached out to Debbie everything changed. She is more knowdgable about breastfeeding and lactation overall then I ever could describe with words. She is clearly an expert yet describes all her interventions in an accessible manner. She is descriptive, kind, supportive, and effective. Every time I had a struggle, she she was able to provide wonderful support and an accessible intervention that always worked. She helped me to understand what was happening and feel sucessful in the overall process. If I could recommend anyone, it would he her. And, I would recommend calling NOW and setting up a visit right when you have your child. Everyone should have such amazing support. If I could give a 10, I would in a heartbeat.

I cannot say enough great things about Liz & Debbie. I came home from the hospital feeling confused and defeated about my breastfeeding journey. After a few weeks working with these ladies directly both in person and online, I felt so empowered. Now, 3 months in, my son and I are doing great with our breastfeeding journey and I always feel that I can lean on these ladies for support still at any time. Liz and Debbie have such great wisdom to share. Highly recommend reaching out & connecting with them.

Highly recommend Debbie, she has been outstanding at helping with our breastfeeding journey, tongue and lip tie releases. The home visits are so convenient especially with a new baby. I felt the rates were great even without insurance coverage. I have gain so much knowledge and confidence breastfeeding. Thank you isn't enough!

Debbie is absolutely wonderful and I would highly recommend to anyone struggling with breastfeeding for any reason. Debbie was quick to return my initial email and promptly called me. She was available next day for an in person visit and I was comfortable with her in my home as she was polite and respectful. Z She is knowledgable, kind and she listened to and thoroughly addressed all of my concerns. She was more in depth than I had expected and I learned so much during the visit. Debbie made suggestions for a pedi dentist and a chiropractor for my newborn. She also helped me with insurance paper work. Debbie has also checked in on me and my son every day since our in person visit which means the world to a struggling mama!

Debbie Chalk is absolutely amazing! I gave birth to my son September 9th and he was in the nicu for 4 days...the lactation consultants in the hospital were unable to help my son and I during our stay so I had to search for help when we got home. Debbie was recommended highly by several people to me in the LLL group i follow and she was able to set up an appointment immediately. We had two appointments with Debbie and many email chains back and forth. We discovered my son had very tense muscles in his mouth, neck and upper back preventing him from being able to latch. We got on a regimen to help relax those muscles and continue to promote latching...within a couple of weeks he latched and never looked back!!! Without her help I don't believe we would have been able to be successful in breast feeding and now I am exclusively breast feeding! I even had issues in the beginning related to pumping injuries on my nipples and Debbie was able to help me heal so that we could begin attempting to latch. I'm so grateful that I was able to find Debbie and I fully recommend her to anyone who is needing a lactation consultant or a post partum doula!

Debbie is the best! She came to my home and helped with some breastfeeding difficulties I was experiencing with my newborn. She is a fantastic listener and really took her time with us. Debbie's knowledge and expertise in all things babies is phenomenal. Highly recommend!

I will be forever grateful for the wisdom and care Debbie from NJ Family Roots gave me postpartum. She spent countless hours with me over several weeks working to breastfeed my baby. She is kind, gentle and never made me feel needy or silly for asking questions (of which I had MANY). We need more people like Debbie in this world.
