Postpartum Doula Services
Physical Support
As your body and spirit recover from the miracle of birth, a postpartum doula provides physical support to help you rest and rejuvenate. The postpartum period is sacred, and you deserve to be nourished during this time of matrescence. We help with light household chores, meal preparation, and baby care, offering a chance for you to focus on healing. The support you receive during this time is designed to allow you to embrace your own rhythm and find space to breathe, rest, and fully recover.
Emotional Support
Matrescence can stir a beautiful, intense mix of emotions: joy, exhaustion, overwhelm, and everything in between. A postpartum doula offers emotional support by holding space for you to process the myriad of feelings that arise. Whether you need to share your birth story, talk about your dreams and challenges, or simply be heard, we offer compassionate listening and validation. We are here to support you emotionally through this powerful transformation into motherhood, honoring your journey without judgment.
Infant Care Education
In those early days of motherhood, you might have many questions about your newborn’s care. A postpartum doula guides you through baby care with love, offering support in diapering, babywearing, soothing, and creating peaceful sleep routines. We also empower you to trust your instincts and intuition, so you feel connected to your baby’s needs while honoring your own. You are not only learning to care for your little one but also deepening your understanding of yourself as a mother in the sacred process of matrescence.
Breastfeeding and Feeding Support
Whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, or using a combination of both, a postpartum doula is here to help you with the feeding journey. We offer guidance on latch techniques, positioning, and creating a calm, supportive environment for feeding. Through this time of nurturing, we ensure that you feel nourished as well. As your body heals and your baby grows, we walk alongside you to support your feeding choices with love and respect, helping you build confidence during this sacred phase of matrescence.
Recovery and Rest
In matrescence, it’s vital to care for your body as it heals from the profound experience of birth. A postpartum doula supports you in reclaiming your rest, nourishing yourself with food, water, and self-care rituals that honor your body’s recovery. We remind you to slow down and create a space for peace and tranquility, allowing you to fully embrace the physical and emotional shifts of becoming a mother. Your healing is just as important as caring for your newborn, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
Nonjudgmental Guidance
Every path into motherhood is unique, and matrescence is a deeply personal journey. A postpartum doula offers nonjudgmental, unconditional support for every decision you make. We honor your choices, whether you co-sleep, breastfeed, bottle-feed, or follow any number of practices, because we trust that you are the expert on your own family. Our role is to provide guidance, answer questions, and hold space for your decisions with love and respect, so you can find your own way through the beautiful transition of matrescence.
