I need a support system for when I get closer to giving birth, and education on how to have an easy childbirth since I'm planning on having an unmedicated birth. Im not yet pregnant but plan to conceive in the Fall of 2025. I have identified that I want a home birth with a midwife and doula. I would prefer to have OHP cover the costs if possible. My birth plan is to feel safe and trust my body while having the support and care from my doula.

1.) I plan to give birth at Salem hospital. 2.) I have Kaiser and am told that Kaiser does provide coverage for doulas. I was hoping to find a doula that works with Kaiser permanente. 3.) This is my 2nd kid and am hoping to have a unmedicated natural birth. If I have to be induced like I did with my 1st, then I will get an epidural.

I have the EPO plan through Aetna. Aetna Open Access Aetna SelectSM and my plan renews on 7/1/15-6/30/26 I need to provide both a provider and a CPT code to see if my insurance covers Doula services. I would also like to understand Lactation and pelvic floor services covered by Aetna. At this point in time I am looking to give birth at OHSU since my regular provider at the SE PDX Adventist birthing center does not have a NICU. Having a baby wasn’t something we planned, so we’re riding a wave of emotions—there’s definitely some uncertainty, anxiety, and fear, but also a growing excitement for what’s ahead.
