About me

I'm Ashley! I'm Ontario born, but the island has been my home for many years. I live near Nanaimo with my partner and our dog, Carter. I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and riding my motorbike. In my spare time I love learning about nutrition and cooking traditional foods. Going through the journey of birth and postpartum, can be challenging - but it can also be a beautiful, memorable, and positive experience too! Having someone there, by your side making you feel empowered and encourage you to make the decisions you want for yourself, can play a huge role in how you look back at the experience. My passion is to be that person for you! I want to help you feel safe, heard, and supported during this journey.

Service introduction

As your birth doula, I will meet with you before your baby arrives so we can get to know one another. I can assist you in preparing for your labour and help you find information. During labour I will be there the entire time providing comfort techniques such as massage and position changes. After labour I can provide assistance with breastfeeding as well as visit with you and your baby afterwards to provide any extra support you may need. As your postpartum doula, support is very dependent on what you need as a family. That support can be any of the following: assistance with newborn care, emotional and physical support from childbirth, breastfeeding/feeding support, light housekeeping and meal prep, and provide evidence based information and resources.
