Babies have always been my passion! Like Tisha said, I always knew my career would be working with babies. I applied to nursing school knowing I was going to work in OB and that's exactly what I did. After having my first child in 2014 I realized the need for more lactation consultants. I struggled a lot with him and had no one to turn to for answers, so I began doing my own research. I was determined to make this work. And that is how my lactation career started! I started my lactation training not even knowing if I would be able to get a job doing what I had become so passionate about. My family and I made some life changes and everything fell right into place. Tisha and I always casually talked about starting a business but never in my wildest dreams did I think it would actually happen. But here we are! I absolutely love my job and could talk about breastfeeding all day long. I strive to do everything I can to help each mom meet their personal breastfeeding goals. I am very passionate about tongue ties and food allergies in breastfeeding since I personally experienced that with my 2 nursing journeys. Breastfeeding does not come naturally for everyone and it definitely isn't as easy as some think. That's why I have made it my life mission to educate every mom and give them all the tools and support needed to be successful!
Farron has been so helpful and is always available when I need her whether that be through text or over the phone. She has been so supportive and encouraging through this new journey and I’m thankful for her insight and help!

Hello! My name is Jill Duke. I live in Northport ,Alabama with my husband and two boys. I am a Birth Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor , student ibclc, and a Thompson Method Breastfeeding Educator❤️ I have been working with the amazing Dr Robyn Thompson (founder of the Thompson Method) for over 5 years. I myself struggled with motherhood after my first son was born, but found a truly life changing experience while pregnant with my second. My goal is to help mothers prepare for a healing birth and breastfeeding experience during pregnancy as well as increase breastfeeding rates in Alabama.
I met Jill when my first child was only a few weeks old. Her knowledge, patience, and guidance saved my breastfeeding journey with both of my children. She's kind, attentive, and supportive and has a heart to help women achieve their pregnancy, labor, birth, and breastfeeding goals.

Hi, I’m Courtney! I’m a NICU nurse, lactation consultant (IBCLC), and a newborn specialist. I have been helping women breastfeed their infants in the NICU and at home for 6 years.
Courtney has been there for me through two pregnancies, births, and newborns. Anyone who knows Courtney knows that she is super passionate about anything baby/motherhood related! This is not just a job for Courtney and you can tell she genuinely cares because in addition to her years of experience as a medical professional, she is constantly educating herself on the topic in her free time! She is a truly compassionating, kind, never judgemental wealth of knowledge and I don’t know what I would’ve done without her support and answering my questions in the middle of the night 😊

Hi, I’m Karmen Johnson, and I’m passionate about supporting women through their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys. My own health challenges, including my diagnosis of premature ovarian failure, inspired me to focus on empowering others to feel informed, confident, and cared for during one of life’s most transformative experiences. As a doula, I combine my personal experiences with my professional background to provide holistic, compassionate care. I earned my Master’s in Food and Nutritional Science at Tuskegee University, which deepens my understanding of prenatal and postpartum health. My experience in nutrition education and plant-based living allows me to offer guidance on how to nourish your body and mind during this special time. I take pride in creating a calm and empowering atmosphere where you feel supported and respected. Whether you’re preparing for your first birth or adding to your family, my goal is to honor your unique vision for your experience. Why I’d Be a Great Fit as Your Doula • Empathy and Advocacy: My personal journey has shaped my commitment to being a strong advocate for you and your needs. • Holistic Support: With my background in nutrition and wellness, I offer practical guidance to help you feel your best throughout your pregnancy and beyond. • Calming and Supportive Presence: I’m here to create a peaceful, empowering environment where you feel heard and cared for. • Personalized Care: I listen to your needs and preferences to help you create a birth plan that reflects your values and ensures your voice is always at the center. I’d be honored to support you on your journey and help you feel confident every step
When I think back on my birth and postpartum journey, Karmen Johnson’s name shines brightly as one of the most pivotal and comforting presences in my experience. From the very first moment we connected, Karmen exuded warmth, understanding, and a deep passion for her work. She immediately made me feel seen, heard, and supported in a way I didn’t even know I needed. As my doula, Karmen provided not just practical knowledge but also emotional reassurance that carried me through the most vulnerable and transformative moments of my life. She was there calmly guiding me, offering comfort measures, and reminding me of my own strength when I started being hard on myself about my healing journey. Her presence brought an indescribable sense of peace to both me and my partner, who also felt incredibly supported under her care. During The postpartum period (can feel overwhelming and isolating) she checked in regularly, offering both physical help and heartfelt emotional support. Whether it was helping me with breastfeeding challenges, reassuring me through moments of doubt, or simply being a listening ear during late-night talks, Karmen made me feel like I wasn’t alone. She became an integral part of our family’s story, and I can’t recommend her enough to any parent seeking someone who will walk beside them with grace, expertise, and a heart full of love. If you’re fortunate enough to work with Karmen, know that you’ll not only gain a doula but a lifelong advocate, cheerleader, and friend.
